I depart on Sunday and this was exactly what I was wondering – I tend to enjoy exploring on my own; is this possible at most of the ports or should I be booking something that is more structured? Thanks for wonderful insights so far.

This Sunday is the Spanish Obsession cruise. I was on the Irresistible Med one so a different itinerary. I booked zero excursions and viewed every town myself. In Ibiza the port was slightly far away so Virgin provided free buses to/from town.

I would expect this cruise to be similar.

Would someone who has been on one of these trips be kind enough to advise the best way of travelling from airport to the port please?

Cab will run you about €40 and takes 20 minutes or so..

There is a specialist bus service to the airport literally outside the ship that was advertised on disembarkation so that must be an option.

To note the port area is quite big to say the least. The ship generally docks in the same place which is by the Eurostars Marina Hotel , that might be a better address to give to the taxi driver.

Taxi or a dedicated transfer. You could always travel in to arcelona o

Does anyone know if it is still docking here? I know it matters little as you will need transport to the port anyway, and the ship(s) are hard to miss,

Hi Howard any interest in linking up our bookings for $50 Sailor Loot as we are sailing on 4th Sept as well – just need to exchange email addresses?

Also tip for HfPers if you are outside the ship waiting to board and keen to book shows\events etc I hear you should be able to connect to the ship’s WiFi whilst waiting\queuing to board which will allow you to secure any of your MUST DO events that are bookable only when on ship. Not sure if its something to really worry about with the ships under capacity but thought it was something worth knowing.

Ah ok, so beforehand you can prebook restaurants and trips only, however shows/events you need to be on the ship? Any recommendations for either?

We stayed at Eurostar Grand Marina last night it’s about 75 yards to Virgin Voyage check in. They already have our luggage
