Just seen an OTA traveasy.com (no, never heard of them either) offering r/t flights from Heathrow to Edinburgh in J for £119. Found them from a google flights click through, sample dates Feb 16-18
That’s against the BA sale fare of £148
So if you want, you could book direct on BA then claim best price guarantee and bag a £60-ish voucher plus 80TPs for £150.
(I did a best price guarantee against another OTA last year and was amazed how slick the system proved to be.)
Fare available in both directions so you could back to back this, although not sure if that would give BA cause to reject the price match.
The reviews seem to be one way or the other.
They have an eye-catching rate for later in the year, and as these are bookings for domestic flights to see family, it’s fixable if it all goes wrong.
I would mainly use them for the best price guarantee – as @The real Swiss Tony says it’s super easy and there’s really no point booking with OTAs as a result, when it comes to BA flights.
Note I suspect this is backed off the current BA sale that ends today, so if you want to jump in, i’d do it ASAP…
I had to jump through quite a few hoops to get BA to price match traveleasy, they kept coming back and asking for additional screenshots despite the fact I sent them 6 with the original claim
Traveleasy also badgered me relentlessly for the first 24 hours as you have to put all your details in to get to the next screen – phones calls, emails, whatsapp messages at 1am urging me to complete my booking
