Hi Chas, it was around 5 years ago since I stayed (doesn’t time fly), so I have just looked on the website to jog my memory. It looks like the hotel as had a slight makeover. I’m pretty sure I just stayed in a deluxe room though but was quite high up so had a good view of cars quite beautifully and chaotically mastering the roundabout down below. When I wasn’t there I’m pretty confident there was no lounge access so I can’t comment on that. The bar area was nice, but pricey by vietnam standards but still much cheaper than most places.

I stayed in Hilton Da Nang which was fine. I’m sure there’s a few on this thread who would have stayed at the Intercontinental in Da Nang as it appears to be extremely popular.

Thanks, that’s useful. I might also go for a more entry level room in Hue, and save the cash to splurge a bit more in Da Nang.

I’m aware of the IC’s reputation and would love to stay there, although my wife is slightly concerned that the location means we’ll be unlikely to visit Hoi Ann as it’ll be over an hour away (each way). It’s also not cheap (would need two rooms for five nights), with no points availability on my dates. If anyone else who has stayed here can comment on what it was like, and treatment as a Diamond Ambassador, that would be great. Or comment on other options – just standard Plat hotel statuses for other chains.
