Hi all,
I’m looking to purchase a premium economy ticket and use my 2-for-1 voucher. I’m not looking to use my points but instead pay cash for the ‘lead ticket’, and call the support line to add the ‘free’ companion ticket.
And the question is – do I need to purchase the ticket first before calling their customer service? If yes, I’m worried that a once-available reward ticket is no longer available by the time I get through to an agent. And if that happens, I’d either have to cancel the ticket with charges, or buy another cash ticket, which defeats the purpose of this game, and certainly not a situation I would want to be in.
I’ve looked at HfP’s recent series on Virgin (and other articles from earlier this year) but couldn’t find the answer, unless I’ve missed it. I’ve been an avios collector for years so have zero experience with Virgin’s reward tickets / 2-for-1 mechanics. Any experience anyone has had would be appreciated.
I think the best way to do this is to call and get the agent to do it all in one go.
What Northern Lass says although remember, you can cancel up to 24 hours after booking with no charge as per:
