Ive just had a bit of a chat online with Virgin Money re our Credit Card.
Our Statement Date is the 19th of every month.
On June 19th, I received my Statement with a DD due on July 7th for £2005 = no problem
However, I viewed my account on the App on June 20th – to find a refund of £50 went into my account on June 18th followed by another for £650 on June 19th – neither of which appeared on the Statement up to June 19th.
I noticed the DD amount then changed to £1,300 so obviously corrected for the £700 of refunds.
HOWEVER………….
Since that date, the DD has been increased for every payment that left the account AFTER that Statement date of the 19th – in fact, the latest DD amount due on July 7th includes purchases made right up to yesterday (July 2nd).
Virgin Chat have advised me that the original DD on June 19th was for £2,000 so they will continue to include transactions made after that date UNTIL the amount of £2,000 is reached.
Surely that is madness – what are your thoughts?
TBH the amount isn’t the issue as I’m happy just to clear my balance every month, but the whole process seems extremely strange to me.
