Hi Team,
Apologies if I’m late to the game, but just been costing up some options for flights to NYC next year.
RTN Reward Flights in Oct’24 are as follows:
Economy: 20,000 Points (+£279)
Prem Econ: 35,000 Points (+£535)
Upper Class: 95,000 Points (+£995)
RTN Reward Flights in May’25 are as follows:
Economy: 20,000 Points (+£289) +3.6%
Prem Econ: 35,000 Points (+£569) +6.4%
Upper Class: 95,000 Points (+£1,041) +4.6%
Arguably this could be seen as inflationary increases but with fee now topping £1,000, it feels rough. I know they reversed a £200 increase earlier in the year, but have they decided to increase it more incrementally now? Looking into the breakdown, this increase seems to be increases to both surcharges and taxes…
Wondered if anyone else has seen this or has this been common knowledge for a while and im just late to the game???
I’m seeing the BA and Virgin YQ to be exactly the same in May for Business Class — £ 900
It may be some other charge, like APD, that’s gone/going up.
APD is due to increase yet again in both 2025 and 2026 but that doesn’t explain the whole amount of that increase
