Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Virgin reward seat sale this month?

  • 19 posts

    Hi

    I hope everyone’s well!

At the end of June (and into July) last year, there was a 30% off reward seat sale.

As that was the first time I’d booked reward seats, I wondered if it was usual to have a reward sale around this time of year?

I appreciate every years different, but just wondered if there was a trend.

    Thanks!

It’s Virgins 40th birthday in June and I’ll be absolutely shocked if there isn’t something birthday related

We had a reward sale earlier in the year that was, I think, earlier and longer than historically, so we might see something, but who knows. If US utilisation isn’t what they’d like, that might bolster the case. Let’s hope.

    Thanks both, let’s hope so.

If not (or even if so), do you know if I can pool together my families miles too as long as they’re on the same booking? Whilst I have the bulk of miles at around 125K, by 4 year old has 20K (no idea how) and wife 15K, so I’d rather use their 35K if possible and empty their accounts before reducing my balance down. It’d be a phone booking due to using a reward voucher or two.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes – you can do this. You actually have multiple options:

    1. Call to book, as you will be doing when using vouchers, and explain what you want to do. As long as you have sufficient points in each account for at least one sector, then they can take from the balances, hopefully leaving you with no points in your wife and child’s account.

    2. Some agents won’t do (1), claiming a policy change. If that’s the case, or if you prefer, you can transfer points for a nominal fee, at https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/flying-club/spend-points/transfer-points.html.

    3. You could open a household account, but I don’t see the value if you’re going to then effectively close it immediately afterward.
