Latest news as per Sunday, is that the wing is still open until Jan 28th. Working as normal.

What do you mean by ‘open’?

The situation as we were led to believe was that it is open BUT the private security lane is shut and you need to go through to the main terminal to clear security.

From 22-28 Feb the entire Wing is shut for final installation of the new machines.

Are you saying this is not the case?

I went through the main terminal as cake by train but used virgin’s security lane yesterday

My understanding, which is mirrored at https://flywith.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/upper-class-cabin-and-seats/clubhouse-airport-lounge/london-heathrow-clubhouse/upper-class-wing.html, was as follows:

    – Up until the 21st February, the Wing is open (inc. drop off, check in and private security), but there is a temporary new entrance to the Wing, located just next to the existing entrance from the terminal (due to the location of building hoarding)

    – 22-28 Feb. Full closure. Use T3 check in, then up to Heathrow/Clear fast track for processing there.

    – 29 Feb – 13 May. Wing open for drop-off and check-in, but security closed again. Use Heathrow/Clear fast track.

Ah so it looks like the closure of the security area has been delayed until February the it will be closed for around 10 – 12 weeks not the 5-6 as originally posted.

Does seem a doubling versus First Wing, unless VS are either trying to do all work in one contiguous block (and BA are hiding some future work from us all), or HAL have just forced a doubling on them for some reason.

Just been through security at T3 (flying AA).

The usual entrance to priority security is boarded off for construction and the entrance is now further along so maybe they are waiting to complete whatever they are doing to the original entrance before doing anything with Virgin jist to make things easier?

But security a doddle now they have the new scanners.
