Hi all, I am looking to use my upgrade voucher for return flights to JFK next year, I am red. I would like to fly upper class on the outbound and premium economy on the return. 1) are mixed class bookings possible using the upgrade voucher and 2) how would the total cost in points be calculated given the rules using a voucher as a red member? would I be correct in assuming the outbound segment be 2 for 1.5 and the return 2 for 1?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The CC voucher can be used either for a one person upgrade or as a companion voucher. For the former mixed class redemptions are possible. You would be charged premium miles for outbound and economy miles for inbound. I’m pretty sure people have reported that mixed class redemptions with a companion voucher are possible via phone. Hopefully others can confirm this.

I did exactly this a few months ago, on the phone. Can’t comment on how the miles pricing was calculated, I just accepted whatever I was told at the time.

Resurrecting another thread as I am thoroughly depressed by the BA news.
If you use the Virgin vouchers to upgrade cash bookings, can this be done as soon as the flights are released? I’ve noticed that award seats appear considerably later than BA releases its own, but of course Virgin flights are available to book for cash well before they release award inventory.
I’m just about to trigger a 2nd Virgin voucher and am now thinking of using them on a cash booking to NAS next winter instead of paying the newly-inflated BA avios price.
