Wait for Membership Rewards to Avios bonus or cancel now?

My Platinum card has just renewed and in all honesty I cannot justify it any more. I think I can cancel and get the pro rata refund? I am contemplating cancelling it and my BAPP card to reset the 2 year clock. Hopefully I will get offered a retention bonus but I don’t think there is any guarantee. I cannot foresee any circumstances in which I will redeem my circa 130K reward points for anything other than Avios. I am kicking myself because after a bit of googling it looks as though I missed a 30% transfer bonus earlier in the year. So the question I am struggling with is will there be another bonus offer at some point in 2025 in which case I might get the free membership rewards card to keep the points until then or do I cut my losses, transfer the points to Avios, cancel the cards and set the 2 year countdown clock running. Would be great to hear anyones thoughts?
The MR to Avios bonus will have been on US cards, not UK cards, if that helps you make your decision. Make sure you get your retention bonus before you leave!
Middle route is to take out the ARCC.
Keeps the MRs alive without having to decide where to transfer them yet. It doesn’t start the 24 month timer, but at least it’s not costing you anything.

Not been an Amex to Avios bonus in the 12 years we’ve been running this site ….
There has to be a banner at the top of the browser saying ‘you are viewing a US travel blog. These offers are available to Americans thanks to the high interchange fees paid by Americans.’
