Hello everyone,
Are there weeks where they never add additional reward flight availability? Like, specific dates that never get more, every year.
We’re looking at flights from the DR to London, and the first week of January is the only week on this route with no flights (as in, no availability has been added since its release). Every week before and after has been replenished, even though some of those weeks are peak times and January is not.
What do you mean additional? If you’re referring to the extra availability from the new-style 241 that can appear at any time but can be a few months after the standard award seats. If you mean just general extra availability, there’s no guarantee of that and if it’s a very popular route it’s unlikely to happen as BA will want as many cash booking as possible.
The first 10 days or so of January are always peak until the school term starts.
Honestly, I mean both. And I know there is no guarantee, but I just find it odd that basically all weeks before and after that one week have had extra availability added, but not any day that week. Even the dates around Christmas have had availability added!
And technically, it’s marked as off-peak, so you’d think BA would treat it as such, but god knows.
What do you mean, “technically, it’s marked as off-peak”? BA.com is showing January 1st to 7th as peak, then moves to off-peak from the 8th. Where are you seeing that it’s off-peak?
It’s not really clear what you mean by having extra availability added, how do you know this? Certainly as of now, SeatSpy at least is showing virtually no availability for Christmas week, in any cabin. If you see 2 seats, then see 4, for example, it could be that someone has cancelled a booking and the seats have gone back into the award inventory.
Worth remembering that you can book a huge number of additional Club World dates if you have a new 241 voucher and start your trip outside London, because of the way that the ‘extra’ seats are opened up for you.
