Thanks for your extensive articles covering all you need to know about the BA 2-4-1 companion vouchers.
There is one aspect though that wasn’t covered which is whether there is anything that can be done with the voucher if for whatever reason you are not going to be able to use it. You see the expiry date coming and although I think you mentioned that BA may extend it by 3 months, sometimes you just can’t take a family long haul fly before the next summer for instance… So is there a way to convert the vouchers into Avios or something else to avoid losing it? Thank you
No way to convert it to avios. Rob did an article on extending it under very specific circumstances a few weeks ago if you search back.
If you don’t fit the criteria and don’t want to lose the voucher, using it for a short-haul trip (especially in school holidays) can still give good value.
Another thing to remember is that you only have to fly the outbound by the expiry date and you then have 12 months to take the inbound. So you could be creative and make 2 trips out of it, several months apart, if that was more convenient for you.
