Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club What points would apply? Voucher holder is Red … Non-voucher holder Silver

    Hello,

I’m wondering if anyone has any experience of this… I couldn’t find the answer.

I have the Virgin Atlantic Reward+ credit card, and I’m wishing to spend one of my vouchers soon – this will be the first time under the new rules.

My question is, I’m currently a Flying Club Red member, but may partner who will be flying with me, and is the secondary card holder is Silver… which of the below would apply?

    Many Thanks

Your voucher has a fixed value:

Flying Club Red members can redeem their voucher up to a maximum of 75,000 Virgin Points
Flying Club Silver or Gold members can redeem their voucher up to a maximum of 150,000 Virgin Points
The value of your voucher will be calculated by your status at the time of booking, not when you fly or when you receive the voucher.

Well it’s your voucher and you’re Red so common sense would dictate that it’s worth 75k points.

It’s more flexible now though, because it can be used to upgrade from economy to UC if the 75k covers that. I managed to book MAN-MCO for 2 in UC for 15k points plus taxes, because the 75k points covered the difference between economy and UC.
