When are BAPP Amex tier points credited?

Can anyone who has hit a spend threshold confirm when the tier points were credited?

Avios seem to be awarded based on all card spend for the statement period up until about a week before the statement is due. Is that correct?

If so, does the same apply to Amex tier points?

I’m trying to ensure I time my spend so the tier points land after 1st April. My Amex statement period covers 11th-10th of the month so my Feb-March statement would cover Feb 11th to March 10th and the Avios from whatever period they award for are added to my BA account around the 5th of the following month.

So if the same logic applies, my spend after the 4th/5th March and any thresholds hit after this date should ensure the tier points are awarded the same date as Avios? Not credited instantly like the companion voucher?

Any experience of this? Surely someone has earned tier points by now for hitting a threshold!

It works in the way you suggest – Amex transfers Avios a few days before your monthly statement date and the tier points ones transfer at the same time effectively showing as Avios but on a separate line but won’t go into your BAEC TP count for quite a few days after you see the normal Avios.

The only caveat is that many report the system isn’t working very well, so there’s a risk it might change, so it’s rather difficult to finesse.

The TPs arrive in the Executive Club account on the same date that Avios credited to the Executive Club account arrive. They can appear in the TP count on the same day, although some have reported it takes longer. Others haven’t received the TPs at all!

I have the opposite problem, the Amex tier points will help me to Gold, they’re coming through to BA exec as Avios- anyone else having this issue and if so did they manage to resolve with BA?
