I think I must be going daft, got some Accor points from a stay last year that I want to spend, if i look online it says….
Simply log on using your ALL user ID and book a stay in any participating hotel identified by this symbol:(two little coins).
Not a single hotel I’m looking at has the symbol, I can’t even see it when I follow a link that says, places you can spend your points…. so please enlighten me – what am I doing wrong !
Hello
I meant to reply to this yesterday.
I think it is basically all hotels.
Pick the hotel you want.
When it gets to rates for each type of room, you should see the magic symbol with the words “pay with rewards points”, or similar next to it. This is in the list of bullets for each rate e.g. “non-refundable”, “breakfast included” etc.
Then proceed to decline all the upsells, you get to “Complete your booking”, click on confirm and it takes you to payment. There, you have the option of reducing the £ cost by using your points.
At least I do.
Thanks Froggee, it’s weird, I’ve had another look today, and can see it for a small selection of hotels, eg Sofitel LHR, but only if there is a ‘deals / packages’ tab, its on a few of those. but I don’t want a champagne romance package ! i’m looking at hotels near Lyon airport and none of them seem to have the ‘deals / packages’ tab, and none at all seem to have the pay with points. i’m close to giving up but i’d really like to use the points.
Have you actually clicked through to the final stage?
I tried Lyon for random dates and a mercury, Sofitel and McGallery are all pay with points.
Maybe your dates are somehow restricted?
Which hotels/dates are you failing on?
I had gone through to the end as the first one I booked, and nothing, but that was an IBIS budget (late arrival at airport), a little extra searching and I find that apparently IBIS budget hotels (except in Cambodia, Georgia, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Russia and South Korea) do not participate in the points scheme.
I can see it now on those other hotels if I click all the way through, I had assumed that if it wasn’t there for the budget one then I must be missing something – not as easy as Hilton or IHG ! but finally i can book something. Thanks for the help.
Looks like your account is “locked” for spending – contact Accor and wait and wait
I was getting NO “pay with points”: it was only 2K but expiring and
by total coincidence we had a Novotel stay coming up.
Rang the general contact number and all v easy: they booked the room,
applied the points, knocked off the €40 and apologised for the webpage not working properly.
