Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes Where to credit Etihad miles

  • 21 posts

Following on from a previous post re a summer trip to Asia we’ve now taken the plunge on some Etihad business flights from Frankfurt to Singapore for the 4 of us.

Given I can’t see us flying Etihad again before the miles expire does anyone have any guidance as to where to credit them? I know there’s an option to credit to Etihad and then take a prepaid debit card which may be best but any other suggestions worth looking at?

On a diff point we will have a couple of nights in Franfurt before we fly out but coming back we are considering just flying on from FRA to LHR same day- any thoughts on whether this is a bad idea and if not what “gap” is sensible to leave?

    TIA

Do you want to build miles in star alliance? If so, you could try Air Canada (where you can also credit Emirates flights too as well) and the miles don’t have a hard expiry. But do check your fare is qualifying

I usually credit my EY flights to AA.

Going the opposite direction at FRA on separate bookings last year (LHR-FRA / FRA-xxx on Condor), I gave myself ~5 hours. This was far more than I needed, though it would only take a small delay. If you take a longer connection, at the airport there is a very pleasant observation deck, or it is easy to go into Frankfurt itself for a meal and some sightseeing. There is easy to access left luggage in the check-in area at FRA.

    Thanks all. Useful as always.

AA is great if you have another route to top up, likewise Air Canada.

I think Air France is an option too, and easier to top up with UK cards (Amex, Revolut).
