Its my birthday in February and I don’t like spending it in the UK. In the past I have been to New York which i have loved but i think we should try somewhere new. I have two children aged 11 and 9 and we all love to shop.
Where would you recommend? We have a week to play with time wise. Don’t mind hot or cold destinationsWe are going to Tenerife so best avoid that.
There was no mention of budget but Singapore is one big shopping mall and I find going east with kids that age is fine as bedtime just becomes 2am.
I believe Dubai has malls.
Please don’t bother going to Dubai.
Athens or Istanbul for boutiquey shopping.

Yes, Bangkok too.
How about Amsterdam, it’s pretty magical, shopping is great, kids will love the canals, easy access in and out from the airport via the train. Then maybe split the week going by train to other cities such as Brussels or Paris and fly back from there.
Surely it has to be Italy if you like to shop in style? Rome, perhaps, with an endless array of small boutiques and almost all the high-end international brands you could imagine? Venice has some surprisingly fabulous shops, too, but you could really go to any Italian city with shopping in mind..
You might even be able to accommodate some history and culture once you have worshipped at the shrine of mammon.
Italy would be fabulous, but 2025 is a Jubilee year which means it’ll be heaving with the faithful and accommodation prices will be through the roof, especially in Rome, if there’s even any availability left!

Amsterdam isn’t vegan friendly.
Therefore, I approve.Japan/Tokyo – endless shopping opportunties and dirt cheap due to weak yen.
Nice – it’s Carnival time, plus you can pop into Monaco + Italy, and the
kids (and you) can do a perfume course: a favourite destination of our 11-yr old.How about Amsterdam, it’s pretty magical, shopping is great, kids will love the canals, easy access in and out from the airport via the train. Therefore, I approve.Decades ago, I regularly stayed at a Tulip hotel near Amsterdam and pretty much all that was on the menu was steak, steak and a special of the day was steak.
I asked my colleague why is there just steak and his answer was “Why have chicken when you can have steak”
