Bit of a bespoke question I know! First long haul trip in a while and first on Club Suite in a couple of weeks, and we would prefer to ‘turn left’ at the door to avoid all the other passengers filing past when boarding if possible. thanks!
IME everyone boards and exits via the same doors, which are towards the front – you only “turn left” if there’s an F cabin and you’re in it!
What’s the issue with the other passengers?! I think they’ll be too busy looking for their own seats to pay much attention to anyone else.
If it’s a B773 pick a seat in row 5, 6 or 7.
Thanks, no issues just prefer not to have people filing past if possible but appreciate its a first world problem!
I think if you sit on the far side, e.g. 5F & 5K you get fewer people going past as many pax will use the near aisle to get to PE and Y then cross over at the bulkhead rows. If you’re in the middle row of course that will only help the person on the far side. We like 5K and 6K these days because they are extremely quiet and private!
Also – if you close the CS door you can hardly see anyone else, and nobody else can see you unless they are standing next to your seat.
Are the doors not locked open until after takeoff?
I am sure that secretly most people on here actually quite like economy passengers filing past you whilst one luxuriates in our business class seat, thinking to oneself ‘this is what you could have had’. Obviously I don’t 😀
I hate to add a potential dampener, but in the rare case that you depart from a bus gate, you’ll have a lovely experience of boarding a 777 via stairs… along with everyone else.

+1. They should be. And if you get a lazy cabin crew, they will remain locked open for the duration of the flight.
On my last flight, I asked a FA of I could close the door. She told me how to unlock it. But no one came through the cabin and unlocked the doors.
I meant after take-off. So if people are passing for the loo, Club Kitchen, whatever, they can’t really see you. It feels very exposed when you do sit in the old-style CW aisle seat again after CS!
You can just enter the plane last if seeing other people is such an issue. There is also private jets for those that feel like that.
Yet another example of why the idea that boarding first is somehow superior on a long-haul plane in biz class – in order to sit there while hundreds of people file past – is madness. Yet some people get very shirty when their status and boarding priority is in any way diluted and display great enthusiasm for queueing to get on first 😀
Last on every time for the win. Doesn’t matter where you are then. Luggage space not an issue in CS.
I get on last if flying in economy, and ASAP in other classes
This is so true! Sometimes people seem to think that they will lose their seat, unless they get on board and claim it immediately 😂

The OP’s question was specifically about boarding. I trust you will be advising your son, whose exam schedule you have regularly regaled us with, always to read the question.
I share the view that it’s not a great experience to have loads of people file past your seat while you sit there like a zoo exhibit. There are two solutions: board last (which I usually try to do as the lounge is generally more pleasant than the aircraft), or examine the seat maps on Aerolopa and book a seat ahead of the door. I think that all BA’s 777s have at least three rows ahead of the door, but some have substantially more than this.
@JDB, it was general information for the OP who stated that they had never flown in Club Suite! Presumably, if they are bothered by other passengers filing past on boarding, they may be reassured to know that their privacy won’t be breached during the flight when people are making their way to the toilets etc.
Do chill out and regale us with even more tales of your own champion-golfer, multi-lingual, globe-trotting offspring on their gap years in Outer Mongolia 😂
On the few occasions I’ve boarded after general boarding has started, I’ve had trouble finding space for our relatively small carry on cases, so I’d rather board first. People in business class do seem to get away with a lot of ‘flexibility’ in what is defined as carry on and I don’t really mind everyone else filing past anyway.
On either of the versions with Club Suites, if you are in the mini cabin (Rows 5 to 7 and 8K on 200ER) then you will turn left and only F passengers will go past you.
