I have just finished earning my BAPP voucher and will soon return to my BA/Amex reward card free period while waiting until I am eligible for sign-up offers again.
I like to keep an Amex card mainly for offers, which of the free cards is best – Nectar or cashback? I am open to Marriott as long as I can make my money back (I don’t earn/ stay at enough Marriott points to justify the card). In my previous in-between period, my default was Nectar as the Avios earning rate is good for a free card, but I am not spending that many Avios at the moment, so that decision is not a swing factor.
I am also a supplementary Platinum cardholder from my family, so I’ll get those offers anyway. In the last year, I can’t remember the last time I used an offer from the Plat card. I don’t tend to spend in the luxury/ big spend end. And those cards very rarely have the shops that I would spend on a regular basis e.g. Tesco.
Anyone with these cards – can you comment on which one gets regular offers that are either low spend e.g. don’t require hundreds of spend or at daily shops. Thanks!
