Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Which Frequent flyer program to use

    Hello

I am travelling to Mumbai, India . I have booked our tickets on the BA website. Our outbound journey is on Qatar Airways to Doha and then another Qatar Airways to Mumbai. On the return we have BA flight. When I check the flight numbers closely. Our Qatar Airways to Doha has a BA flight number but is Qatar Airways flight. So there are 3 legs of journey in total. 2 of which have BA flight numbers. In this case where do you recommend that I credit the miles to get maximum benefit. Qatar flyer program or Avios ?

    Best Regards
    AB

Depends on the booking class of each ticket. https://miles.travel-dealz.com/en/QR

Click on the appropriate booking class and then there is a calculator box for a route in the middle of the page. Be aware you may have a different booking class for each leg.

To find your booking class on BA.com
    Go to ‘Manage my booking’.
Click on the ‘My booking’ tab.
Click on the flight number link and a popup should appear.

    you could check wheretocredit.com.

Also if you think you will be flying enough to earn, say, Silver status then 3 flights with BA numbers count as 3 out of the 4 flights ‘on BA’ that need to be included in your flights to earn BA Silver status.

Also check what your flights would earn on Finnair overall, as well as BA and QR, as avios are transferable between the 3. Pick whichever program earns you most of what you want and use your membership number for that program for your ticket.

For spending what you earn, you can transfer avios between those programs later if a different one works better for your spending the avios earned.

@Lady London The travel dealz link is better than WTC these days. More comprehensive/updated and shows tier bonuses in the calculations.

Personally I’d be crediting cash tickets to AA. Double the mileage credit, and with AA you only need 55k miles and a couple of hundred quid to fly Uk-Doh-africa for example. AA’s website actually works too. I think people get way too hung up on Avios with their high surcharges and even higher redemption rates.
