My final flight that I need to retain silver, that I need for tier points and the 4th BA coded flight, is on 31 March. It’s QR operated. Will it credit in time?
(My other half is gold and I rarely travel alone, so I’d rather avoid taking an unnecessary extra flight just to make silver, but it is occasionally useful for lounge guesting).
It should do. If for any reason it didn’t, I think you’d have a strong case to appeal to BA.
There have been issues with TPs posting across the collection year end, but I think this was just in the case of the BAH promotion.
There’s a two week flexibility period anyway, so if it doesn’t credit on time it should be straightforward to resolve and get you silver.
The problem here is that it’s QR operated and these can take longer to post.
But BA is used to this and it should n’t be a major issue to rectify once they do. You’d need to wait two weeks before chasing though
But they will count based on the flight date not the posting date.
It’s clearly not going to post before the current collection year ends because the reset is automatic at midnight on March 31st, so you may well need to chase to get your status amended after the TP’s appear in April. The Catch 22 of course is that by then you will only be Bronze, so further down the priority list.
I have a similar issue, but for you it should not affect your travel/lounge benefits as can use your wife’s access I assume if travelling together? The issue would be if on your own and the trip you take is during a period where BA drops your status for a few weeks while they sort this out. However, I would suggest you could complain loudly and in writing, and if lucky, they will do some kind of funky extended deal for you to compensate. I successfully complained about timings issues one year on my silver and got it sorted out along with a compensation voucher which i used on flights.
The only issue if it doesn’t credit automatically will be the earnings rate for Avios on the flight departing on 1 April.
Similar to a credit card statement, BAEC account entries have a transaction date and a posting date. It won’t matter when it posts, the points are calculated based on the transaction date, and if relevant based on your status on the transaction date, not the posting date.

So that could be the issue. Currently Silver and have a flight on 31 March into Doha that I need to maintain Silver. Then my flight out of Doha is on 1 April. Technically I would have retained Silver on 1 April, so my Avios and Tier points should be based on silver status, but at that point in time my silver status won’t have posted, so it may calculate according to bronze status.
Also what will be interesting will be that the flight is booked as PNH ( Phnom Penh) to LGW, but the PNH to DOH will be under the current rules and the DOH to LGW under the new revenue based rules. How will BA decide the revenue of half a ticket on QR? Booked as a BA code share?

Status lasts one more month at least, no?
@Tracey – airlines calculate the revenue by sector all the time so as to share revenues correctly if the trip involves multiple carriers. They pro-rate the total based on the individual sector published fares which are difficult to access for a passenger (unless it’s shown in the fare line of your e-ticket), but you can calculate a reasonable approximation by the % distances flown for each sector.

The silver status you have will actually expire on 30th April 2025.
So any avios you earned for a flight taken on 1st April will still be at the silver rate.
Relevant point, but the correct answer to that is unclear. The original question was related to the transitional TP collection year ending on March 31st, and retaining Silver status through that. The expiry date of the current Silver status hasn’t been confirmed. If the old TP year end was Feb 8th and the status was not renewed by then it will expire on March 31st (purely coincidentally aligning with the the transitional collection year end).
That’s reassuring, I thought the card lasted eg for lounge access but not the status.
I just need to make sure the first flight posts back to this year to qualify for silver again.

I should have been clearer. My old year end was July 8th, so I’m on the current scheme until 31 March and will have status until 30 April.
No the statue has always lasted the entirety in the run off period so applies to extra baggage, free seat selection, enhanced avios earning rate etc etc
Sorry that doesn’t make sense. If your old TP year end was July 8th then your status expires on August 31st (in whatever year may apply). Check the card expiry date in the app.

I need a coffee! I was confusing points collection and card expiry.

I hit silver a couple of weeks ago but as of yet BA is still to confirm retaining silver for another year. In the past as soon as I’ve hit 600TP I’ve had a confirmation email. H
