@Tom, regardless of how one reads clause 10.2, it’s clear that it only describes the evidential standards for lounge access. Eligibility is another matter altogether, and that’s where clause 5.5 kicks in.

To quote Oscar Wilde: “A cynic is someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.”.

Completely agree, but the UK media has encouraged a culture of resenting career success. Partly they are just reflecting the reality of stagnant wages. See the furore over Rachel Reeves (hardly a shining example of success) posting a photo of her seated in BA (old) Club World.

It is quite different when it’s the “public’s” money, but again I agree. I spent years travelling economy – even had one boss who lived in St Alban’s wanted me to travel to/from Luton. “Sure I said – just pay me pro rate for the 3 hours round-trip”. That didn’t happen!

No commodity has a shorter shelf-life than time.

Also +1 for @JDB. He’s criticised me a few times, but his knowledge is better than mine. Not his opinion, but his knowledge and experience 😊

5.5. …Members should add their membership number to all bookings at time of booking, or prior to arriving at the airport.

With prior to arriving at the airport, do they really mean prior to checking in for your flight?
