Potentially one of the strangest question on Hfp, does anyone know any hotels, holiday apartments, cabins, anything, with floor to ceiling windows and 2 comfy chairs from which to watch a harbour?
Anywhere in Europe, almost literally anywhere.
I can find tall windows in rooms too small for two nice chairs. I can find plenty of balconies where standing up is required to enjoy the view. I can find countless examples of “almost what I need” but not my perfect sitting, watching and catching up with my friend holiday getaway.
    Anyone?

I stayed at Adriatic Deluxe Apartments in Dubrovnik. Beautiful view of the harbour from the HUGE terrace, and with a hot tub to boot! Very reasonably priced too. The balcony railings are made of glass, so you have an unobstructed view. A few mins in Uber to Old Town.

To give two random and very different suggestions.

Not sure if Positano counts as a harbour, but sell a kidney to pay for it and a Junior Suite at Le Sirenuse has this:

At the other end of the glamour scale (allegedly), but EXACTLY what you asked for is available in, er, Ipswich:

How about the Sunborn Yacht Hotel in Gibraltar? That’s literally in the water in the harbour.

    Regent Hotel Porto Montenegro (Tivat).
Stayed in March. Booked on points sea view room. Got upgraded to huge suite with a double balcony across lounge and bedroom area. Wonderful view across harbour. Given a lovely bottle of red wine and other goodies on arrival. Not sure if windows floor to ceiling but definitely had harbour view lying on the bed and sitting on sofa. You might need to be specific on booking as some rooms/balconies might be side view of harbour.

    Inside by Melia Newcastle.
River view studios have floor to ceiling windows looking over the Tyne. Nice, but not quite Puerto Banus 😁

Decent balcony cabin on any 7 night Mediterranean cruise.

This could possibly be a good topic in its own right. “Great views from awful hotels, or awful views from great hotels.”

Britannia Grand Hotel in Scarborough probably has some great views across the bay to the Harbour.

I’ve just checked my photos from IC Estoril and the balconies there have glass rails. Granted you’d be outside rather than in the room but the view is unimpeded when seated and you can look in one direction and see Estoril and look the other direction and see Cascais.

Thanks all. I will take a good look at most of those. I grew up in Newcastle so won’t be choosing that one but maybe that’s useful for someone else. The Ipswich hotel does look rather lovely 😀
We’ve cruised a lot and it’s true it’s nice but the views can be just the sea with not a lot going on.
I’m sure amongst those we will find exactly what we need. Cheers .
