Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Wrong BA Tier points for Iberia flight

  • 40 posts

    Hi,

I think this has been discussed previously but couldn’t find it.

I flew Iberia fully Flexible which (as I confirmed independently with BA and Iberia) would credit me with 70 TP’s. when I received my Boarding pass at the airport, it showed flight class A which is the lowest class.
I immediately called Iberia before the flight, they confirmed that I should ignore the A, as the ticket clearly shows on the system as a fully flex.
To cut the long story short, BA only gave me 20 TP’s not 70.
Iberia and BA have both fobbed me off and it looks like there’s no one to talk to. What do I do now?

Fare bucket ‘A’ on Iberia indeed only nets you 20TP.

Did you save anything with the booking class that you say you have? Any emails?

Also, just bumping this for more experienced posters to answer.

BA gave you what IB told them to give you so BA didn’t take anything away.

Either call BAEC again or use the webform to make a complaint and keep the explanation simple – I booked this < insert booking ref / flight details > and expected X points and was only given X.

No need to mention any calls you made as they will only confuse the issue.

I’ve been on the phone to both IBERIA and BA so many times to no avail.
IBERIA have now sent me the actual ticket which clearly says free changes and cancellations allowed but BA (I tried my luck calling “you first”) insist that it must be an internal IB promotion not a fully flexible ticket.

I tried my luck emailing duty.office@holidays.ba.com, loyalty.feedback@ba.com, exec-club.socialmedia@ba.com, gecsreplies@contact.britishairways.com. The only one that responded was gecs…. but they ignore my follow up with proof from IBERIA.

Whenever I call Iberia they make it sound like it’s no big deal and BA should grow up and look at the actual ticket, while BA only see a big red flashing A telling them to look no further.

    I feel so stuck
