Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Executive Club Accidentally issued two companion vouchers?

I received a companion voucher in January of this year. There was an issue whereby my BAPP wasn’t connected to my BA account, so I had to jump on live chat to connect it, and after that the voucher appeared in my account. The thing is, there have always been 2 vouchers there, one expiring 1st January 2024, one expiring 7th January 2024. I assumed this was some weird representation of it being for a return trip, or for 2 people, but I just called up to book a trip with the voucher, and the gentleman asked me which voucher I would like to use, so it would seem I do indeed, somehow, have 2 vouchers! I’ve checked my account and indeed I still have a voucher there that I can use! Has anyone else heard of this happening, or had this happen to them?

It’s happened to my wife last year. The extra vouchers may be used without problem.

In my wife’s case, Amex failed to link correctly to her BA Exec Club account. By the time they fixed the problem, her voucher had been issued by Amex but failed to arrive with BA. She complained, and Amex eventually found the voucher and reissued it. They then did the same thing two more times, leaving her with three vouchers.

It was so painful getting the first problem fixed that she didn’t have the energy to tell Amex what they’d done. So we just used the vouchers.

    Thank you, Amex.
