Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get 150-200 Clubcard points (360-480 Avios) for DVD and Blu-Ray pre-orders at Tesco

After a small break, Tesco Direct has brought back its pre-order offer on DVD’s and Blu-Ray discs.  This allows you to earn a large pile of bonus Clubcard points when you order a product which is coming soon but not yet available.

Note that Tesco charges you immediately for pre-orders.  However, the upside is that you will also receive your bonus Clubcard points immediately.

You will receive 150 Clubcard points when you buy ANY pre-order DVD and 200 Clubcard points when you buy ANY pre-order Blu-Ray (selection here).

This is a slightly better deal than last time, because there is no £10 minimum order.  The cheapest DVD is Scooby-Doo Stage Fright for £5, which is a pretty good deal for 360 Avios points if you can find a use for the DVD.  The cheapest Blu-Ray is £11.90 so these deals are not as good.

The offers run until 15th September.

  • Ada says:

Unrelated, but I can’t post anywhere else: I just got an email from Tesco about a £5 refund on the Diablo 3 bought in July. Nice.

    • Shadow Captain says:

Haha me too. That turned out to be a great deal.

    • wilfred47 says:

me too. listed on amazon, both xbox and ps3 sold within a couple of hours.

got about £30 for each, after fees and postage

    • YL says:

Hmmm… Received my copy yesterday, but have not received the £5 refund email from Tesco.
Glad that you mentioned, otherwise I would not have noticed the selling price is now £35..
I wonder if this is because I used the discount voucher … Guess I will need to give Tesco Direct a call tomorrow.

  • Howard says:

Had the same. Well done Tesco!!

  • Kathy says:

Me too! And the game’s turned up, so going to have to look at reselling it now.

  • Bertie says:

Should the additional clubcard points be in my basket as I’m checking out?
    I’m just getting 10 on my £10 pre-order DVD.
    (Sorry for the Newbie Q)

    • Rob says:

Yes they should. If they don’t show then the Tesco website is playing up, try again later.

  • Phil says:

There’s also a 150 pre-order bonus online for the Artic Monkeys new album – at last Tesco are promoting those i might want to listen too!

  • Tony says:

Can you order more than one?
Also, what happens if you buy it as gift then the recipient already has it – can they exchange it? Just thinking my kids are always being invited to b’day parties so half a dozen of the scooby doo ones would sort us nicely through to early next year.

    • Rob says:

2-3 probably OK on the same order, but they have in the past restricted people to 1.

  • Keith says:

TDXR-KPKW £5 of a £20 spend worked on 3 DVds and a cheap kids cd total bill £16

    • Mr Bridge says:

just used that it worked fine…thanks

    • Colin A-B says:

Just tried using your code & it says it’s linked to another account so I’m not allowed to use it.

  • Mr Bridge says:

If you pre order dvds, etc from tesco watch out for this.
If the price drops on or before the release date tesco should refund you the difference, according to their pre order price promise.
Only 1 of my last 4 orders where the price dropped has triggered the auto refund, so i have had to contact cust serv for the refund.
So do check the price you paid against the release price.
