Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Tesco now giving 4,800 Avios / 5,000 Flying Club miles with Diablo III purchases

Yesterday was one of those odd days.

On Friday night I wrote an article about pre-ordering video game Diablo III from Tesco Direct which was offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points (2,400 Avios).

When I woke up on Saturday morning, with the post live, the bonus was down to 500 points and the deal didn’t make sense financially.  I was very grumpy (I can change the site but I can’t recall 1,200 emails).

Then, during the day, it went up again.  Not to 1,000, but to 1,500 Clubcard points.

And now, it is giving 2,000 bonus points per copy.

2,040 Clubcard points – over 5,000 Avios in total – is a great deal for a £40 video game which should resell for £30 on eBay with little trouble.

Do NOT order more than one per person as Tesco has, of late, been cancelling multiple orders.  Remember the Dan Brown book etc.

I’ve ordered 2 pS and one XBox version today on same account. Will report back on what they cancel! eBay will be busy…..might try another XBox tomorrow!

  • danksy says:

Mine was giving 2040 points per game, but if the orders were placed together the points didn’t stack…. i.e 1 version for xbox gave 2,040 but when the PS3 version was added it only totalled 3,000!

Queue 5 individual orders for me and 2 for the missus 😀

    Thanks Raffles – You’re a legend sir!

I don’t believe it… People are selling their Diablo games they have just pre-ordered themselves on eBay already! “Pre-ordered 2 by mistake, selling spare copy. Will dispatch 1st class as soon as delivered to me on release date.” and “Unwanted pre order bought for nectar points, will post immediately on release day when received.”, just to give you two examples.

I wonder how soon we will see these generous pre-order deals disappear for good.

I have ordered a Ps version and an X Box version. I have two tesco accounts which are identical except have different clubcard number, email address and credit card. Name and address are identical. I have done the same on both accounts so 4 Diablo’s ordered. I wonder what chance of getting cancelled are?

  • chris says:

points are showing today, from an order on the 6th (so only 1540 not 2040, now its back to only 1040, tho not a like it matters as the return should be £35 so still 1540 points for £5), for those that are no stop asking when do i get my points,

unless your’ve ordered more than x amount of copys and flagged your self your points should be showing too, unless your ordered on the 7th (sunday) than it might take another day

  • paul longstone says:

This is showing only 1000 points now at 6am Monday

  • Future says:

Gubbed. 1000 for both versions today. Damn.
