All this week, Head for Points is running an exciting competition in association with hotel booking app HotelTonight to promote their new ‘seven day advance booking service’.
We have £1,000 of prizes to be won. FIVE lucky readers will each receive £200 of HotelTonight credit.
The prize will be valid for 12 months and can be used at any of their properties in over 450 cities.
Entering is easy – all you need to do is add a comment to this article (but read the rules first). This competition is open to HfP readers across the UK and Europe.
Introducing HotelTonight
HotelTonight is an iOS, Android and Windows Phone app which historically let you book hotels for the same day only. Rooms are often discounted and HotelTonight has a price promise which will credit your account if you find the same room cheaper elsewhere.
The company is expanding quickly throughout the UK. Cardiff, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Derby, Dover and Aberdeen have recently been added, taking the number of UK cities to 29. Globally the company is operating in over 450 cities, primarily in Europe and North America but continually growing.
Last month, the company unveiled a major strategic change. You can now book a hotel up to seven nights in advance. You no longer need to book on the day of arrival.
This is a major change and, in my mind, a major improvement. Being able to book a few days in advance gives you added confidence that you will know where you are staying. And, because you can book before you start your trip, it is easier to check out reviews and the location of the HotelTonight options to be sure they are suitable for you.
At the same, restricting the booking window to just seven days means that hotels are still willing to give discounts to HotelTonight customers. Most properties will be pretty certain of their estimated occupancy rate for a particular night in seven days times.
If you’ve never tried it, there is a generous sign-up bonus available. Download HotelTonight onto your iPhone, Android or Windows phone – the links can be found here – and use promotional code RBURGESS15 on the sign-up screen. You will receive £15 of credit towards your first booking. (This is my refer-a-friend link, although I won’t receive anything unless you make a booking. There is no better sign-up deal available as far as I know.)
What can you win?
We are giving away FIVE prizes of £200 HotelTonight credit.
This will be valid for 12 months and can be used in any of their properties worldwide. As you will see from the app, the company operates in a huge number of cities – including 29 in the UK – so you won’t have any problems using your credit. The new seven day booking window means that you have a lot more flexibility to book than you did previously.
You can enter whether or not you already have a HotelTonight account – although the winners will obviously have to open one if they do not already have one.
Even if you don’t win, all readers can receive £15 of HotelTonight credit towards their first booking by downloading the app and entering the promo code above.
How do you win?
All you need to do is leave a comment on this article which includes the last three characters of your home UK or European postal code.
Entries are limited to one per household. The winners will need to provide a postal address which corresponds with the post code given in their entry.
Make sure that you put a valid email address on the comment form – but not directly in the comment itself – so that we can contact you if you win.
The competition will run from 7am on Monday 20th October and close at midnight UK time on Friday 24th October. The winners will be picked at random and contacted by email. If any winner does not respond to the email within 48 hours, I will select another winner.
The other rules
The competition is open to residents of the UK, the rest of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland, except where prohibited by the laws of the country where you live. I apologise to the 10% of HfP readers who live outside these countries.
Non-UK winners will receive an equivalent credit in €. There is no cash alternative and the prize is not transferable. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
Under UK law, I am obliged to make the names of the winners available on request. The promoter of the competition is Head for Points, contact details available on request. The email details you submit will not be shared with HotelTonight (unless you win) and Head for Points will not use them for any other purpose.
Good luck!
