Triple Avios points with NH Hotels – up to 1,350 Avios per night

NH Hotels is one of those niche European hotel chains that is rarely seen in the UK (although there is one in London) but crop up quite frequently on the continent.

As well as the main NH Hotels brand, the group also includes Hesperia and nhow.

Avios NH Hoteles

Whilst not a British Airways Executive Club partner, you CAN earn Avios points whilst staying with NH Hotels if you credit them to an Iberia Plus account. You can then move the points across to your BA or account via ‘Combine My Avios’ online.

The standard earning rate with NH Hotels is shown here at You earn 450 Avios per night for a 5-star, 350 per night for a 4-star and 200 Avios per night for a 2-star.

NH Hotels is currently offering a special deal for bookings via Iberia Plus.  Although, as usual with the English language Iberia website, it is not entirely clear what is going on!

The email I received from Iberia said that you would receive double Avios in October and triple Avios in November and December.

If you can get yourself booked into a 5-star NH Hotels property, you are looking at a fantastic result – 1,350 Avios points per night for November and December.

There is, however, no formal list of the ‘100 hotels’ offering triple Avios.  This page at lists a few participating cities, including the main Spanish targets of Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Bilbao and San Sebastian as well as a selection of European and Latin American cities.  You are told to ring NH in Spain for a full list!

Your stay must also fall on a weekend between 1st November and 30th December or (except for hotels in Austria and Germany) during the week of 22nd December.

Separately, it is worth noting that you can also redeem Avios points for NH Hotels. On the face of it, it looks very expensive (to put it mildly) at 37,545 Avios per night for a 5-star. This drops to 26,000 Avios per night during a ‘promotional’ period which is not defined.  I still wouldn’t consider this a bargain.

You also need to book by telephone with the Iberia call centre in Spain, which is likely to prove a challenge for anyone who does not speak Spanish. More details on the NH / Iberia web page.

I have a 7 night stay at a Hesperia property coming up in November – alas already booked through BA holidays.

Is there any way of wringing a few more avios out through the NH rewards / iberia plus partnership? Or is iberia purely a ‘booking’ partner?

Does not hurt to give an IB number at check in but do not expect anything. May get lucky.

great, thank you very much again! this is adding value to my trip back home for Christmas. I made a present to myself, I am organizing a trip with a stopover in Barcelona on 21/12 and will try to make the most of it by booking a NH Hotel and using the £15 discount offered by Lufthansa (it seems I was the only one to comment! on that post), which is the most convenient and only combination possible for Christmas this year. Stopover is the same price as a flight straight back home. I will just need to kick-in 1 or 2 night for a total spend of £100. not bad.
I will now need to call the Spanish Iberia Customer service and will let you know how easy it is (i speak a little Spanish, though) and Skype will help making the call free.

forgot to mention I also took advantage of the 1500 Avios bonus offered by Iberia for booking by 22/10. Again a great bonus for a Eur79 flight (luggage included) which will produce at least 1000 avios by flying. total potential over 5000 Avios. now i need to see what rates Iberia will offer for the NH Hotels…they are at approx 50Eur on Booking.
