Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Inn / Park Plaza hotel group, has launched a very generous promotion for Spring.

Between 6th April and 28th June you will earn TRIPLE points on every stay.  This means that you will earn 60 base points per US$1 you spend.  Full details are here.

In addition, you will earn an additional 1,000 points for every stay booked through the Club Carlson app.

This promotion effectively gives you a 50%+ rebate on your room rate if you are Gold.

I generally say on HfP that I value Club Carlson points at £5 per 1,000.  This value holds both at the top end (50,000 points for a five star in London) and the bottom end (9,000 points for a Park Inn in Harlow).

Let’s take a typical $150 room night.  I’m not sure if Carlson adjusts for VAT or not – I am assuming they don’t for simplicity

$150 x 67 points (as a Gold member) + 1000 point app booking bonus would be 11,000 points earned.  At £5 per 1,000 that would be worth £55 of free night against a £100 room bill.

This is an excellent result for me as I have two nights at a Radisson Blu in Stockholm in early May.

If you don’t want the points for free nights, this is also a decent deal for earning Avios points or other airline miles.  Club Carlson points transfer to Avios at a 10:1 ratio in chunks of 2,000.  In my example above, you would have earned 1,100 Avios points for your $150 room night.

You MUST register in advance in order to earn triple points via the link on this page.  I would be surprised if another hotel promotion as generous as this comes along for the current quarter.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.

We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here. You can apply here.
