      I expected 400 from Hailo and 500 hundred for opening an ID plus ac. I got 1000 (apparently all from Hailo) and haven’t argued.

  Anyone got a workround for the ‘enter phone number’ bit of the Hailo sign-up? I can’t get it to accept a UK mobile number – and stops me proceeding to the next stage. I have tried to make up a spanish mobile number (apparently 9 numbers, always starts with a 6) – but this is no use because the app then says it will text me a code to finish setting up the account).

    I created an account a while ago with a UK number and have not had an issue. Even now when I logout and create a new account by clicking on the country code it drops down to allow +44 to be chosen and then a UK number to be input without the 0 – this is on an Android phone.

    Create the account BEFORE you turn on the Fake GPS – you can then use your normal UK number.

    Rob’s instruction says to sign up first ‘in UK mode’ so you can enter your number and get text to activate. Then use fake GPS to switch to Madrid and in your profile you can then enter IB number.

  Has anyone managed to transfer Avios from Iberia to Avios or BAEC lately. Whenever I try either on my account or my niece’s it fails. Avios have tried to do it for me and also failed.

    I am having issues with this as well. I can also not get to the point where I price up an Avios trip on iberia. I am pretty certain that the issue is with iberia so I am going to ring them today.

    My girlfriends account is fine I believe but she has the wrong DOB on her BAEC which is proving surprisingly hard to change

      Iberia’s website is just horribly broken, it hasn’t worked properly since the hack. so I called twice trying to book simple A to B reward seats and the agent wasn’t able to do it either. Will just have to book with BA despite the extra cost :/

        I just rang up Iberia and as others have said, there have been a lock on accounts. I got asked some security questions and apparently it will be released in 3-4 days. Going to cut it a bit tight with the BA avios change date, want to fly one way iberia and one way BA to South America, and having to use house accounts to do this I will have to gamble on which one of us will be able to transfer to Iberia from BA. On the plus side I got through to an agent straight away and call lasted about a min but had to ring the spanish number

    Same here. Neither mine nor my wife’s account is allowing transfers. Seems to be ever since the account hack problems of a few weeks ago

      Same here. None of the family’s Iberia accounts are allowing transfers anymore. All used to work by logging into Avios and pulling. My last transfer was the economist miles in Feb.
      Cant search for awards either, just can an error message each time after selecting the flight/date.

      Also seems to be since the account hack, can only think maybe the account has gone back to not activated status (since it had 0 Avios in it).

    I’d taken this up with Avios.com technical assistance. (I’m unable to do a Combine My Avios from Iberia into either Avios.com or BA.com)
    Avios.com said that the problem is definitely at the Iberia end.

    A thread on FlyerTalk’s Iberia forum shows that quite a few people are having problems. There is some speculation that it is linked to the BA Executive Club lock-out debacle, and that maybe some Iberia accounts were affected in a similar way.

    Other people have managed to get CMA back by resetting their Iberia passwords, but it didn’t work for me. Some suggest that whatever problems there have been may have reset the 90 days restriction, so we might not be able to make a transfer for another 2.5 months.

    I’ve also written to Iberia Plus, but I don’t hold out much hope for a satisfactory resolution.

      I’ve managed to sort out these issues. I phoned up Iberia, they said they had a security breach on some accounts, so they’ve locked them (even though you can sign in, buy flights etc.) Anyway, the lady on my phone reset my account, and I had to change my pin, and now everything is fine. Unfortunately, the only phone number I could find was for the Madrid-based office (pretty sure they don’t have a UK number). Various attempts on emails / tweets have been pointless, their customer service departments try and pass it on to someone else, almost every time. I’ve had no problems CMA after the reset.

    Yes but accounts locked down following the hack. Therefore you need to phone Iberia, there is a general London number with annoying voice recognition system instead of pressing numbers you can use. Make sure to start by asking the agent to actually look at your account and say it is locked; then they refer to Madrid for resolution. It took a full week for mine to resolve but it was then fixed and I transferred and redeemed as desired.

  Have you tried taking off the zero when entering your phone number?
  Anyone know if possible on an iPhone as the apps are different and won’t seem to work?

  I happen to be in Spain today and have done this successfully on iPhone app using my UK mobile number to get the PIN required to the registration.

  I’ve read this before (possibly here!) and can confirm it works fine – the 1000 Avios are in my IB Plus account.

    I’d forgotten that:
    a: You can’t move your Avios from IB Plus to a BAEC household account.
    b: You can’t move your Avios from IB Plus to Avios (you have to go to Avios & pull them in)
    c: When you go to Avios to pull the points in from IB Plus you need to capitalise any letter in your password

    What a faff.
