To celebrate its association with the US Open tennis tournament, Starwood Preferred Guest (the Sheraton, Westin, Le Meridien, St Regis, W etc chain) is running a daily online competition called ‘Open The World’.

The competition is open to UK residents, although some gift card prizes are restricted to US residents.

You are eligible to win one of 33 free night certificates and 561 prizes of 1,000 to 25,000 Starwood Preferred Guest points.  At the end of the competition, there will be an additional prize given to one entrant of a holiday at the Starwood hotel of their choice.

You can play TWICE per day until 30th September.  I had no success yesterday, despite playing twice for every member of my family with an SPG account, but I’m sure at least one HFP reader can win something today!

You need to be a member of Starwood Preferred Guest to play.  If you are not a member, you can sign up for free at the Starwood website.

Once you have registered and played how do you return to play again?

  • AN says:

Do Starwood ever have any benefits/promotions for signing up for SPG? Or is it worth just signing up now?

    • Raffles says:

If you sign up and don’t stay, you may get an offer like the one my Mum got this Summer, and which I wrote about – do a stay, get a free night (repeatable twice). She did this and I am waiting for the two Category 1-5 free night certificates to post.

  • Su says:

Wahey, well done. There are fairly pricey Cat 5 hotels so that is not a bad prize.

Wow, nicely done, Chris – not a sausage for me so far, been playing it most days!

    • Rob says:

Wow, that is an excellent result – probably £400 of free hotels stay (or 30,000 airline miles). Well done!
