News in brief:

€10 off your next Vueling flight to or from the UK

Vueling, the sister airline of Iberia and British Airways, is offering a €10 discount off your next flight.

You need to book a round-trip flight involving the UK and book 21 days in advance.

It is valid for bookings FLOWN by 17th March.  The Vueling discount code is the catchy UK8WBTK9 and is valid for the first 2,000 people to use it.  It is only valid on the cheapest ‘Basic’ ticket type.  The code was working fine yesterday.

It is difficult to keep track of Vueling routes, especially as some are seasonal, but I think you have:

  • Belfast – Barcelona
  • Birmingham – Barcelona, Alicante (starts June)
  • Cardiff – Alicante, Barcelona, Majorca, Malaga, Barcelona
  • Edinburgh – Barcelona, Paris (starts March), Alicante (starts June), Rome (starts June)
  • Leeds Bradford – Barcelona (starts March)
  • Liverpool – Barcelona (starts March)
  • Luton – Amsterdam (starts March), Barcelona (starts June)
  • Manchester – Barcelona, Rome (starts June), Alicante (starts June)
  • Newcastle – Barcelona (starts March)

You can book via the Vueling website here.  Redemptions on Vueling can only be booked via Iberia Plus, not via ba.com.  You can earn Avios on Vueling flights by either booking on iberia.com or using vueling.com as long as you book the “Optima” or “Excellence” fare.

40% off your 2nd night at Le Meridien with Amex

This offer has been around for a while but had passed me by until I received an email this week.

Until 31st March, you will receive a 40% discount on the second night of a Le Meridien stay when you book via this special website.  You must also pay with an American Express card.

It is restricted to Le Meridien hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  You must book by 29th February.

Le Meridien is part of Starwood Preferred Guest so you will also earn SPG points from your stay.

The 15% Holiday Extras statement credit is now available for all Amex card (on both Cardmember Offers & Amex Connect).

You can double dip on discounts by triggering the Amex cookie on the sites above then going to another discounted site such as MSE Holiday Extras portal (in the same browser).

40% off for second night is good offer but every hotel I have looked at has black out days.

Need a hotel in Dubai (possibly Abu Dhabi) for a 5 night stay. We might mix the two.

Anyone seen any good hotel offers? 6th March to 11th March

You also get avios by booking in Vueling.com, as long as you book the “Optima” fare (or the much more expensive “Excellence”). You will need to add the Iberia Plus number, then you can transfer to BA as usual. So the sentence “You can only earn Avios on Vueling flights booked on iberia.com” is not very accurate…

Thanks for the correction, I have amended the article. It is very confusing …
