Back in early January, I highlighted the first in a series of promotions organised by Heathrow Airport under the title ‘Smart Travellers’.  They are aimed – a little bizarrely – at getting more young people to use the airport.

British Airways initially offered £25 off a £100 flight.  It has now upped the ante and is offering £50 off a European return flight costing £120 or more.

British Airways Heathrow Smart Travellers

The only conditions are:

you must be under 25 (but the voucher applies to everyone on your booking, irrespective of age)

you must travel before 12th June

you must book a return short-haul flight in economy for £120 or more

To claim your discount, you must fill in the form on this page.  You will be emailed a personalised discount code to use on ba.com.

The booking deadline you are given seems to be a fixed number of days from the day you request your discount code – the terms and conditions do not mention any cut-off booking deadline.

Hmmmm, I wonder if I could use the code and get away with it, even though I’m waaaaaaaaaaaaaay older than 25!!!!

  • Oli says:

Sounds like a great, albeit slightly odd, promotion for the reasons given. I’m curious though which Fare Class BA are applying to the bookings. Just wondering if TP’s can be accrued?

  • David says:

Any idea when we have to be under 25? I’ll have my 25th birthday in April this year – can I book for travel after that date and still save £50?

The T&Cs for this offer seem very poorly drafted…
