  Of all the utility companies I have ever dealt with the Co-op have, by far, the worst online provision. Half the time, their pages just didn’t work and when they did, you couldn’t find previous readings, bills, or anything useful.

  The CS department are very nice but fairly useless. When I finally managed to leave, it took them months to process my refund.

  I really couldn’t recommend them at all, even if they were half the price of any other supplier!

    Identical experience!

    A hideous organisation to deal with & none of the compensation thrown my way made it worth any of the hassle.

    Co-op bank is also stuck in the dark ages – we have a business account with them which is dormant as we cannot find a reliable way of using it as their token machine keeps breaking down.

    +1 Appalling billing system and user interface, useless customer services who seemed to think that being a Co-op meant that mediocre service was part of the deal.

    It took me six months and a complaint to the Ombudsman to get my refund after I left, and even then they missed the Ombudsman’s (generous) deadline.

    The promised ‘Our rates won’t be market leading, but will always be a decent price’ never materialised either.

    Wouldn’t go back if you paid me. Very happy with Ovo since then.

    Yes before you check in, or indeed in the lounge pre departure, make sure your baec no is in place. We literally did it at the gate last time, as mine had changed on the system but my OH hadn’t. It showed his old air Berlin no which was totally useless. What a panic. But it worked. Very efficient. You can log into QR or Finnair websites and do it long before you fly, either. But double check your BP,mthatsbwhen l spotted it, literally as we were boarding!

      Yes. Be careful though -I had issues in Berlin and Penang last year when the lounge agent and check in desks tried to change my FF number to my AB Gold account that I was using to access the lounge instead of my BA number which was already in the booking. Changed it back to BA on leaving the lounge via Finnair website.

      I would certainly recommend an overnight in the connecting European country before an ex-EU. I was knackered doing one last year to HKG from ARN. 6am Norwegian flight to ARN, 4pm QR flight to DOH, 1am flight to HKG on CX. Even with flat beds it’s challenging but for less than £900 rtn I was happy.

  The sales are great but I’m always worried they’ll ‘pull a fast one’ and all of a sudden Tier Points won’t apply or something. Hoping to travel to Australia in March – but work will be paying so the flight price isn’t as much of an issue, this time. Hoping to get BA Silver from the return trip to Oz.

      Yep totally fine on the BA metal front. Excited to have silver for the first time.

      I’ve always flown out Etihad to Oz, and I have gold with them. While it’s a fantastic product, the status is a bit useless and I’m finding it hard to spend my miles. If anyone has any link or tips on how best to spend about 200k EY miles, please send my way.

        Jeans, who are you flying with? If they insist on emitprates, then make sure it’s a QF flight no, that way they can go into your baec account. Anyway, good luck. Rob probably has ideas on Emirates. Probably say visit Dubai on points

        You can use them intra Oz on Virgin Australia at pretty decent rates and its one of the few partner redemptions that are easy to find availability.

  OT IHG accelerate: just noticed at the top of my list of challenges it states I must complete all of them to get the bonus while next to the bonus figure it states I need to complete 4 of 5. Which to believe?

    It’s meaning you need to complete them all to get the full headline number of points – the 4 out of 5 (excluding the January one) is all that’s required to get the bonus points.

  OT. I have a family Avios redemption booking to Dublin this summer in Euro Traveller. In Manage My Booking there is an offer of £110 return p.p. to upgrade to Club Europe. Never seen an upgrade offer so far in advance and also never with redemption bookings. This seems a good deal but would I then get the miles and Tier Points?
