  Norwegian plans to fly providence, newburgh and hartford routes with narrowbody planes. 99£ is a good fare as long as you know what are you getting (or should I say aren’t?): No IFE, no checked baggage, no meals, no seat selection, no pillows/blankets/amenity kits. You have to pay for every extra you need. If you won’t need those extras, then get this bargain and fly norwegian, but if you want a legacy carrier level of service then compare prices before buying.
  I will be flying DUB-PVD-EDI in august, I got 69$/€ seats when they launched these routes. Let’s see how flying norwegian’s ultra-low-cost looks like! And if everything goes fine, I will be looking forward norwegians long haul/narrow body routes from othee regional airports, such as BIO, my home airport.

    The 787 has a pretty decent IFE. Fifty quid all in for for baggage, seat selection (including bulkhead seats with super legroom) and a meal or two. Plus icecreams etc.

      But Norwegian won’t use the 787 to fly to/from Providence, Stewart-newburgh and Connecticut-hartford. They’ll use 737MAX8 planes (3+3 seat config, no premium cabin, no seat-mounted IFE)

  Norwegian may not have IFE but they do offer free wifi. Also, ‘Boston’ prices up at £200 rtn from Edinburgh.

  Surely the main benefit of Norwegian to the USA is that you can book the flights 1 way at a reasonable cost for a redemption flight going the other way?

  When you add on baggage and seat selection, it rarely seems any cheaper for a return flight

  Booked a long weekend for something to do, never been to NY. Came out at £250 with luggage, free exit row seat selection both ways. Thanks for the heads up.

  Flew Norwegian Premium in Feb LGW-LAS on their new 787 Dreamliner. Food, alcohol, seat, baggage included in ticket price just over £600 return. Good service and good IFE. Not lie flat seats but a decent recline with lots of space. Not quite CW but better than Premium Economy.

  I have been trying numerous times to purchase Avios from the BA site and no matter what card I use for payment I get an error message. Have spoken to BA customer service and was told to try later today or tomorrow! I was hoping to buy the maximum avios with the 50% bonus but its does not work whetehr I use a Mac or PC. Has anybody else had similar problems today.

      Iberia has just started a 50% off Avios sale as well, and marginally cheaper in Euros
