It looks like the Trump Turnberry golf resort has – luckily – failed in its plan to introduce ‘resort fees’.
You may remember our recent article on how this annoying practice is now taking over in New York.
Guest had been reporting a £20 fee per night per room fee to cover wifi, the swimming pool, in room coffee machine and other amenities.
Unfortunately Trump Turnberry is located in Scotland and not the United States and thereby under UK law is obliged to disclose all necessary charges at the time of booking.
After this article in the Independent, the hotel seems to have dropped the fees. (Warning – the link includes an auto-playing video with Simon Calder in it …..)
