Exclusive HfP competition: Win two nights at ANY Hilton hotel worldwide

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Hilton is currently running a California Road Trip promotion for anyone planning a trip to the US West Coast.

To promote this package, Hilton has given us two ‘Be My Guest’ certificates to give away to one lucky Head for Points reader.

The ‘Be My Guest’ vouchers can be used for a free night at ANY Hilton property worldwide – including all the hotels that participate in the California Road Trip promotion!  You do NOT need reward availability to be available.  You simply book a standard room on a ‘pay at departure’ cash rate and hand over the certificates at checkout.

Enjoy a California Road Trip with Hilton

Guests who book the California Road Trip package at participating Hilton hotels in California will receive one of four collectable key cards which unlock experiences in the area.

Some of the unique savings and offers you can unlock in Los Angeles for example are:

  • Save on your ferry ticket to Catalina Island
  • Receive ice cream with purchase at the Pacific Park on Santa Monica Pier
  • Enjoy special offers at Dominique Ansel Bakery at The Grove
  • Receive discounts on Dolphin and Whale Watching
  • Receive discounts on baseball tickets at Angels Stadium
  • Enjoy 10% off private City Tours

In addition, guests will also get either breakfast or premium wifi included with their package depending on the hotel they are staying at in California.

The California Road Trip package can be booked on this Hilton page.

You must book by 30th September 2018 and stays have to be completed by 1st October 2018.

Where could you stay?

You can book the California Road Trip offer at one of the participating 42 hotels in the LA area on this Hilton page. Here are two hotels we’d like to highlight:

Hilton Los Angeles Airport

The Hilton LAX is a great place to start or end the California road trip. It’s right next to LAX airport with a free shuttle bus to and from all terminals and has a heated outdoor pool and four whirlpools.

Hilton LAX also has an executive floor with lounge as well as four restaurants.

The hotel’s entrance area and exterior have recently been freshened up to make guests feel welcomed from the moment they arrive at LAX.

Beverly Hilton

The iconic Beverly Hilton is the home to famous award shows like the Golden Globes and a popular location for photo and film shoots.

It is close to Rodeo Drive and sights like the Walk of Fame are a 15 minute drive away.

Many rooms and suites at the Beverly Hilton offer outdoor living spaces and sweeping views of the Hollywood Hills.

Back to the competition

We have two ‘Be My Guest’ certificates to give away to one lucky reader.

The winner can redeem the ‘Be My Guest’ certificates by booking a standard room for cash at the ‘pay on departure’ rate and then showing the certificate at check in.  The certificates can be redeemed at any Hilton Group property worldwide!  This means you could stay in California, go budget at the Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz or fully maximise the value at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island – the choice is yours.

As always, all you have to do to enter this competition is fill out the Gleam widget at the bottom of this page with your name and email address.

You can only enter once per person.  The certificates will be issued in the name of the entrant and are not transferable.  They are valid for a year from the date of issue.

You need to enter by midnight on Sunday 1st July 2018.  Entry is open to UK residents only.

The formal version of the rules is in the widget below if you click ‘Terms & Conditions’.

If you can’t see the Gleam widget below click here to be taken to the special entry page.

Good luck.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.

  • Alex says:

Why are the competitions always UK residents only?

  • TripRep says:

Nice competition Rob, will definitely be entering.

As my linked review says, I used 2x Free night certificates at the Conrad Maldives, great value if Gold/Diamond and certainly happy to extend our last stay there to 12 nights.

  • KBuffett says:

I have a Be My Guest Certificate and assumes that it could only be used at Hilton Branded properties (and not Conrad or WA).

    • Jeff says:

Correct. The competition (or more accurately, the description) is misleading.
“Be My Guest” certificates are brand SPECIFIC. Hilton (HILTON) *OR* Conrad only.
But don’t take my word for it, ask Hilton themselves, or undertake a basic Google search.

      • anikaanika99 says:

I think Hilton changed the rules for BMG vouchers that are handed out to guests who weren’t happy with their stay. You used to be able to exchange them at any hotel but are now restricted to the specific brand you stayed at. As far as we understood the certificates we are giving away will work at any brand. I will talk to our contact and clarify this.

        • anikaanika99 says:

I can now confirm that the BMG certificates we are giving away are valid at ALL BRANDS (so that includes WA, Conrad, Hampton, etc.)

  • Matt B says:

This would be perfect for our West Coast road trip honeymoon in a couple of months 🙂

  • Alan says:

    Nice compo, thanks Rob.

  • Tilly says:

    Fab comp. Thanks Rob. Entered.

  • Mr(s) Entitled says:

Stayed at Hilton LAX a number of times and it is good for an airport hotel. The Beverely Hilton however is my favourite brand hotel in LA and surrounds. Lots to do on its doorstep, easy drive to LAX (by LA standards) and Santa Monica. Well worth a visit.

  • rotundo says:

Is there a time limit to use the Be My Guest certificate?

    • PT says:

Rob says 1st October 2018 in the text, so it’s a very short time frame which will mean that many people wouldn’t be able to use the voucher.

      • anikaanika99 says:

31st October refers to the California Road Trip. I’ll check regarding BMG certificate expiry date.

      • Tom says:

Is there no pleasing people? Geez. Here is a genuinely good and relevant competition publicising a promotion that would have – and has been – mentioned already. So win win all round. And yet still we have: ‘why only UK residents’; ‘but it doesn’t fit in with MY plans” etc etc. Get a life you guys! Unbelievable.

    • anikaanika99 says:

The BMG certificates are valid for one year from the date of issue.
