Last month British Airways launched ‘Dream Tickets’.  This is a new 2-4-1 promotion for First Class.

The opening offer was for Cape Town.  It was hugely successful, judging by the number of readers who told me they had booked.

Three new routes are now bookable.

Take a look at the Dream Tickets home page here.

Santiago British Airways First Class

Here are the new destinations on offer:

New Delhi and Mumbai

£4,298 for two people to Mumbai in First Class

£4,998 for two people to Delhi in First Class

Book by 6th August, travel between 1st August 2018 and 15 July 2019.  November travel to Delhi is excluded.

Santiago

£5,499 for two people in First Class

Book by 6th August, travel between October 2018 and January 2019, excluding 15 December 2018 to 2 January 2019

BUT DON’T BOOK THIS!

Instead, go here to the BA Holidays premium holidays site.  Book your First Class flights and throw in a car rental or cheap hotel instead.  You should see a substantial fall in what you pay.  Far cheaper than just booking the flight on its own ….  When the Cape Town offer was running, the price dropped by £200 per person and you got the car as well.

Comments

  1. Do I want to rent a car and drive on the manic streets of Mumbai though?

    • Book the car, never pick up the car!

    • Misread that as ‘magic’ streets initially and was chuckling to myself on the Tube platform reassured to know that sardonic comments are alive and well ????

  2. Can’t seem to get it to work out cheaper with a car / hotel for Mumbai?

  3. alister says:

Is this new policy a substitute for a Sale? No BA sale since last Christmas.

  4. Same as Roger – struggling to find any real discounts for car or hotel to Mumbai or Santiago. Anyone having more luck?

  5. I booked the CPT offer and took the car hire advice from Rob. Priced it on the website and first time the price came down roughly £150 from the fare alone. Went back in to book it and the package went up to over £7k. Called BAEC and got transferred to holidays – as anything added on to a flight becomes a holiday – and after chatting through options a very helpful man got the price down to a tad over £3.9k including one weeks hire of a RAV4 from Avis. That’s what I call a deal. Mentioned it to a friend, he booked as well but he could not quite match it, but the price came down albeit his dates were different, that might be the reason.

  6. O/T Iberia Avios booking. Before the news that the 90k promo Iberia Avios could be transferred to BAEC, I booked a reward flight via Iberia. I wanted F return but due to availability I booked F outbound and J return. F availability has now opened up but Iberia Call Centre to upgrade but they say this change isn’t allowed – only date changes are allowed on avios bookings. Is this true?

    • CountryKerry says:

Yep. You need to cancel and rebook. Easier on BA as you get the Avios and Taxes back for a £35.00 fed. I think you’re screw with Iberia as there are no cancellations!

      • Wow thanks you’ve just made me feel horrified. I’ve re-checked and Avios redemptions through Iberia Plus are refundable up to 24 hours before departure for €25 penalty fee for each direction. So the same as BA except about £5 more.

  7. We were looking to go to Chile and it was £6k pp in F, so this is a rather pleasant deal.

  8. ChrisC says:

Thanks BA ignore us solo travellers again.

Why not just reduce the price in 1/2 so more people can travel.

    Same dates for Santiago

    1 pax = £ 6213
    2 pax = £ 5497 (total for 2)

  9. Booked to DEL and back from BOM for May. Yes, I know it will be getting hot!

    Saved more using some Avios.
