Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Important dates for your diary – offers about to close which you shouldn’t miss (Oct ’18)

Here is the latest edition of our regular feature which summarises offers that are ending soon.

It pulls together the different deals mentioned on our Top Avios Points Earning Offers, Top Hotel Bonus Points Offers and Top UK Credit Card Offers pages.

As there isn’t a month end coming up, it is a fairly short list this time.

Miles and points offers which are about to close

One of the better offers is closing today, although this is most likely to be of use if you are flying for work. If you book a BA Club World flexible ticket, you will get a free one-way upgrade to First Class.

If you plan a long weekend stay in Europe in the near future, look at our exclusive Marriott promotion which ends on Tuesday.  You can earn 10,000 bonus Marriott Rewards points at selected hotels – see here for details.

Accor 2-nt+ stay bonuses – how long are yours taking to post? thx

    • Down the Back says:

I’ve completed 2 so far, 18th-20th Sep and 24th-26th Sep and both have posted as normal in the app but no sign of any bonus points either.

      • HayMow says:

I found the T&Cs – “10. The Le Club AccorHotels Rewards points will be credited to the member’s account within 10 days of the member checking out.” So sounds like both of yours are late, DtB and Mark – I’m still within that for my 1 Oct checkout. Mainly concerned as Accor are the stingiest and least reasonable when it comes to points mixups. I copied and pasted “Congratulations You’re registered!” so know I clicked the button but don’t think I took a screenshot.

  • Mark says:

That was also my question, I have already had my first stay two weeks ago of two nights and the stay posted but the bonus points haven’t. With this Sunday’s deadline to book more stays im worries I have done something wrong.

  • James says:

    Totally o/t:
I have the Amex £200 back on a £600 spend at Amex Travel. Expires 15th November. If I book a hotel do I have to stay prior to the expiry date ??
Will Amex Travel bill me when I book the hotel OR when I checking / checkout of the hotel ?

Is the Fine Hotels thing they do valid with this offer too ? The spend on the Amex card would just be recognised as being with Amex Travel thus meet the spend requirement ???? Or does it show up as something different & thus not meet the conditions ?

Thinking Hong Kong in December if I can.

    Cheers.

  • Suzi says:

Any input would be helpful … need to find cheap/reasonal business class flight from London or Europe to Brisbane …any idea if Qatar are due a sale soon ?

    • Rob says:

Garuda has good deals to Sydney / Melbourne from London which we covered. Etihad has some good pricing from Stockholm to Australia. Neither will get you to Brisbane but a cheap Avios connection on Qantas will do it.
