World of Hyatt has launched a new Autumn promotion, although given that it requires a large number of stays – and Hyatt has a small European footprint – it is unlikely to benefit many people.

You can earn up to 60,000 bonus points (enough for between 2 and 12 free nights) based on the number of Hyatt nights you stay before 30th November.  Reward nights are included in the night totals.

The bonus is triggered as follows:

2,500 points at 5 nights

A further 5,000 points at 10 nights

A further 10,000 points at 20 nights

A further 17,500 points at 30 nights

A further 25,000 points at 40 nights

I value a World of Hyatt point at 1p, so you’re looking at £15 per night in bonuses if you hit the full 40 nights.  You are only getting £5 of bonus points per night if you can only hit five nights, however.

If you are doing the stays anyway then you should clearly register, and if you are only one night short of the next target in late November it is worth shoe-horning an extra night in somewhere.  It certainly isn’t worth moving large chunks of your business to Hyatt this Autumn however.

Registration closes on 15th October (another annoying habit I don’t like, closing registration early) and you have until 30th November to complete your stays.

O/T do you know on average how long it’s takes to transfer Melia points to BA?

  • Charles says:

OT – I want to change my BA flights I booked using a 241 voucher and points. What number do I call and is it 24/7? Thanks!

    • Anna says:

If you go to the “Contact” section of the BA website, the numbers are there, open from 7.30 am I think. But you can also just cancel and rebook online, I don’t think the cost would be any different.

The Woughton House MGallery by Sofitel used to be a Mercure. Wonder why the change in brand.

  • Tony M says:

Does anyone know how many referral points you get for referring from spg to plat?
Website says 9000 from spg to spg, wondering if higher if the referred takes out a platinum card.
    Thanks

    • BJ says:

The same I’m afraid. Also note those 9k are Marriott points so a devaluation on the preAugust 5k SPG points = 15k Marriott.
