World of Hyatt has launched a new Autumn promotion, although given that it requires a large number of stays – and Hyatt has a small European footprint – it is unlikely to benefit many people.

You can earn up to 60,000 bonus points (enough for between 2 and 12 free nights) based on the number of Hyatt nights you stay before 30th November.  Reward nights are included in the night totals.

The bonus is triggered as follows:

2,500 points at 5 nights

A further 5,000 points at 10 nights

A further 10,000 points at 20 nights

A further 17,500 points at 30 nights

A further 25,000 points at 40 nights

I value a World of Hyatt point at 1p, so you’re looking at £15 per night in bonuses if you hit the full 40 nights.  You are only getting £5 of bonus points per night if you can only hit five nights, however.

If you are doing the stays anyway then you should clearly register, and if you are only one night short of the next target in late November it is worth shoe-horning an extra night in somewhere.  It certainly isn’t worth moving large chunks of your business to Hyatt this Autumn however.

Registration closes on 15th October (another annoying habit I don’t like, closing registration early) and you have until 30th November to complete your stays.

  • Jim Nicholson says:

I had an offer on my BA Amex card of an extra 12500 Avios if I spent at least £415 on Avios (25000).

  • KevMc says:

O/T as bits. What is the best number to ring to add a return leg to a 2-4-1 booking when the flights are released? Is it still the US number 1 800 452 1201?

    • Bonglim says:

I think the US number closes just when the tickets are released.
I have used Japan in the past and it worked really well. I had a problem when booking a return flight on a weekend, that almost all the offices are closed Sat night / sunday morning – ended up calling the iran number (which is open on Sunday as not a weekend). The Iran number was a London 020 number, but just opened a little earlier than the UK BA number.

I never have enough ‘spare’ avois, but someone mentioned that you can buy the flights with normal avois at release time online, then call and they will add it as a 2-4-1 and return avois and the difference in taxes in the morning.

      • KevMc says:

Thanks I will try the Japanese number (I don’t need to ring until Tuesday night).

    • Annabelle says:

I phoned the Japan BA office at 1am uk time when they opened ( 9am their time ) to return return leg of 2-4-1 booking just two days ago. Answered by Indian call centre associate who didn’t really know what he was doing. He asked why I can’t do it myself. I explained I couldn’t plus it was an open jaw booking! Took about 45 minutes. Bit stressful but worth it as I think the flights would’ve gone by 6am uk time. Good luck!

  • Bill says:

I saved the TripAdvisor offer on the 22nd. I paid a holiday rental balance on the 27th. Still not had a credit. TripAdvisor payment sent me via PayPal

    • KevMc says:

It probably won’t work if you pay via PayPal – most of the Amex offfers state that the transaction has to be paid using the card directly and can’t be via a payment portal such as paypal, Apple Pay etc.

    • Tom says:

You might need to ring Amex about that – the Offer Terms exclude transactions made “using third party Payment Aggregators”, which I think includes Paypal.

      • Bill says:

Ok thanks for the replies. I don’t recall seeing any other payment option besides PayPal. I’ll take your advice and contact them

  • Roger says:

    OT but this EK offer:
How can I split one booking into multiple payments?
For example, if the booking amount is £3200+ and if I want to use four card, is it possible.
Booking will involve Children, so unable to make single booking per person exceeding £800+

    Any pointers appreciated

  • Steve-B says:

OT – I see that Creation have finally posted points to IHG account for last months spending (sorry if previously reported, have been ‘offline’ for last couple of days)

  • Brian says:

For clarity, it seems that ONLY the four UK MGallery hotels mentioned by Rob are participating in this Amex offer – others in other countries aren’t on the list.

  • Nori says:

OT. Still no sign of the new IHG Accelerate offer?

  • Steve R says:

O/T Looking to use Avios for Miami to Barbados next July – seeing virtually nothing, absolutely, but loads of reward flights to other the Islands.

Would look at the other Islands but all return flights to the UK are to LGW, which is of no use, as the car will be at Manchester

    Any clues?

    Thanks

    Thanks
