    OT:

Whats the deal with Premier Stores on the Amex small shop promotion.

Some stores are listed and have tracked when I’ve made purchases (Mainly £10 cases of beer for xmas)

Probably more than half stores around me are not listed. does this mean they don’t take amex or are not classed as part of the promotion?

    • JPa says:

Not sure places near me come and go from the list. The are generally shops, so may have different card terminals etc.

As Rob says some places do what even when not on the map, so you could try a tester £10 transaction to see if you get the email and tracks. However you wouldn’t be able to complain to amex if it doesn’t work.

    • johnny_c-l says:

Premier stores are independently owned and Premier is just part of the supply/branding agreement the owner has with Booker. Therefore it doesn’t mean that all will take Amex or be part of the promotion.

      • Sussex bantam says:

The one near me takes Amex but didn’t trigger the email and no credit has appeared yet. It’s not on the map

OT: Using a Lloyds avios voucher at midnight. Is is just a case of calling a BA office that is open at that time? There used to be a hand site listing where was open when but I believe it no longer exists?

    • Jay says:

Need to ring Avios who will make your booking using the Lloyds voucher. Their phone lines open at 8am.

      • ahop says:

Well that is frustrating. It is the first day of Xmas holidays next year so a very good chance I will have missed out by then.

I suppose I could book them in my BA account, cancel then immediately call Avios to reserve.

        • Reeferman says:

Avios also has a different pool of availability – so what you see on the BA site isn’t necessarily what Avios will have. I found this out earlier this week – I wanted to book 2 Club seats which were – and still are – showing on BA, but they’re not on Avios, so they said no!

        • Anna says:

Reeferman, I had this problem booking return legs from BOS at the start of the year. Yet avios.com website always claimed to have the same inventory!

      • Mr Dee says:

Yes but as they have merged with baec who do we phone now?

  • Mr Sean Donaghy says:

OT – Last month my Avios points from my LLyods CC haven’t appeared in my Avios account. Even after Lloyds stopped new applicants and Avios accounts moving points have still tracked. Has anyone else had any issues?

I’ve previously had issues with points tracking but that was for the first 6months of opening the CC and LLyods were very good about adding the points manual with a bit of compensation and extra coucher. But I am wary of calling them this time as I want to keep the card as long as possible to get another upgrade voucher.

    • paulm says:

They are going to BA accounts now. Check there if you have one already, if not likely one has been created for you!

    • ADS says:

have you looked at your BAEC transactions ?
my Lloyds cc points appeared there for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
my Avios a/c has not been shut down (i have a few EI tier points)

      • Sean says:

Thanks have just had a look in my BAEC Account and points have been transferred.

  • C says:

OT – have just upgraded to platinum and it is now showing as plat in the online account, but the offers that were saved for the gold card (and shop small) are not showing under saved offers. A (hopefully) shop small eligible transaction from Saturday has now posted but no credit (and didn’t get an email, but it looks like this is common). Also missing a credit for the paypal offer , was going to chase it up if it hadn’t posted by the time the offer ended (in 4 days). In people’s experience, should the offers carry over to the platinum? Could it be that they will but just haven’t yet (it was still showing gold card a couple of hours ago and has only just updated)? I’m hoping they will still be able to apply any missing credits manually!

    • paulm says:

Yes they should carry over. When I upgraded the offers dissapeared for a few days, but did return. I don’t see an issue in getting any credits due as it is the same account.

    • Stevie G says:

Has anyone actually triggered and got the credit for the Amex Paypal offer? Anyone?

      • John says:

        Still waiting

      • Simon says:

There was a comment on a previous “bits” where the amex response was that it did not trigger as the paypal vendor wasn’t on their list (which is nowhere to be found publicly) and they would look in to it which would take a few days….
Mine didn’t trigger and not contacted amex yet

        • E says:

I’m still waiting too. On Amex chat they said they could see I should have been eligible but I would have to wait 90 days…

        • Alex says:

Would cumulative spend work with this paypal offer (I spent 30+£ on 3 transactions, but no email…)?

      • AndyGWP says:

I chased (phoned) them and it appeared a few days later on my Gold card (along with the 500 avios on my BAPP and a few other missing credits I chased at the same time) 👍🏻

        • Alan says:

Yep I got those 500 from manual credit then the offer eventually triggered too 🙂

      • Froggee says:

Me! £200 on Zeek via PayPal on CyberMonday used to buy John
        Lewis gift vouchers,

      • Alan says:

Yep came through after about a week, although transaction backdated to two days after the spend.

  • Tilly says:

O/T – has anyone been charged for withdrawing cash using Curve with the underlying card being Hilton Visa recently? Or is it still going through without any charges?

    • Doug M says:

Can’t answer that. But with Virgin Prem I’m noticing a decline in the transactions working, and with IHG definitely seems over £200 is about 1 in 3 success. For me this follows my card being blocked by Curve because “You disputed a transaction” – I didn’t it was a different thing altogether, regardless why block the card and not contact the user. Curve has it’s uses, but I can see it just fading away as the underlying cards get fed-up with the volume of pseudo cash transactions. What margin is there to operate in the fringes of others business that they won’t then adopt themselves.

    • Anna says:

I wasn’t charged last month, and withdrew this month’s cash yesterday, no charges as yet…

      • Stuart says:

Curve are having all sorts of internal problems recently. I had a complaint open, and the “final response” message was sent to another customer “by human error”. The let me know a week later and of course they are sorry, but dealing with them is getting increasingly frustrating

      • Tilly says:

Thanks. I’ll do a withdrawal then. Not done for a few months.

  • Rob says:

There is already a Vueling card so I assume so (I also assume it is effectively the same product just with different branding on the statements and cards).

    • marcw says:

Interestingly, the products are quite different across BA/IB/Vueling credit cards in Italy. Check it out.

  • Hunter says:

Sorry, someone posted this in comments recently but I can’t find it – be grateful if anyone could provide the non-premium rate BA call centre phone number (to book open jaw Avios redemption). Many thanks

  • antoinette calleja says:

OT: do you get any charges if you have Lloyds Mastercard as your underlying Curve card?
