Etihad launches a 2-4-1 flight sale across all classes

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Etihad is running a 2-4-1 sale at the moment which continues until tomorrow night.

You can travel until 30th November.

Deals are available in all classes and include (per person, based on two travelling in Business Class):

  • Abu Dhabi £1,506
  • Bangkok £1,533

Etihad 2-4-1 sale

  • Singapore £1,765
  • Hong Kong £1,737
  • Phuket £1,734
  • Seychelles £2,111

Availability seems OK.  Even over October half-term (out 25/10, back 3/11) I could find Abu Dhabi at £1,572.  Remember that you need to search for 2+ passengers and that the price shown by the Etihad website is for all of you, not per person.  I was confused by that at first ….

My review of the impressive Business Studio seat on the A380, which is what you will get flying from Heathrow, is here and is pictured above.  There is also a dedicated page on their website here which explains it in more detail.

Your best option to maximise your miles when paying is American Express Preferred Rewards Gold.  This offers double points – 2 per £1 – when you when you book flight tickets directly with an airline.  Our review of Amex Gold is here.

The Etihad UK offers page is here.

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Etihad Guest miles from UK credit cards (December 2024)

Etihad Guest does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Etihad Guest miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:1 into Etihad Guest miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 1 Etihad Guest mile. The Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, with any airline.

OT- Is there any way to erase my linked OLD Marriott Rewards number from Amex MR transfer page?

I tried to change add a new number and it comes with “This activity is currently unavailable, we apologise for any inconvenience caused”

wanted to avoid the CS call, might have no other alternative but to either call or go on Chat page.

    • John says:

Wouldn’t it have been faster to just type this on chat? I mean I hate calling any CS as well but this sounds straightforward unlike any situation where you might need to argue

    • Ian says:

I had the same problem a few months ago. I risked sending the minimum number of points to my old SPG number to see what happened. The points showed up in my new Marriott account and the number linked on my Amex MR page was automatically updated to my new combined Marriott Rewards number.

Maybe I just got lucky though..

OT- Beer52 offer on Amex Platinum
“Save to Card to get a £18 statement credit on an eligible transaction of £24+ online at Beer52 by 15/5/2019. Valid once per Card. Terms, location & payment restrictions apply”.

    • Mike says:

Still not an amazing deal, even stacked with a £10 off £35 code.

The best I could get is 13 (small!) beers for £14 net.

      • Dale says:

Yeah Amex Plat offers are terrible at the moment

        • Alan says:

I’ve got a Gaucho £50 off £150 I’m going to use, nothing else planned. TBH feel I’ve had a good run recently though with the travel, HEX, Virgin Trains ones!

      • S says:

How is 13 craft beer bottles for £1 bad? I used £10 off £24 subscription to get 8 bottles for £12. Plan to do that twice to hit the £24 spend and get £18 back. So 16 bottles for £6 (inc. delivery). Have a feeling it will be based on single transaction rather than cumulative though. Lets see.. I don’t mind paying £12 for 8 bottles of decent beer in worst case.

      • Andrew says:

Without meaning to sound too snobbish we’re not talking Carling here. Craft beer is often overpriced but just over £1 per can/bottle is a bargain.

I bought some more expensive beers but it still came out as £1.50 per bottle after the amex offer and a voucher code.

        • Andrew says:

No mention of any of that in the T&C’s. I got my confirmation email of the offer within minutes of placing the order.

  • Tom says:

I always think the ALMOST@HOME lounge at Helsinki Terminal 2 is rather good and accessible by Priority Pass. It’s one of my favourite PP lounges. I see PP have added the Fly Inn Restaurant too, which is an interesting move and I don’t think was on the list when I was in Helsinki at the end of last year.

  • SG says:

Any success anyone with upgrading the Amex MR Green to Platinum?
Wanting to cancel soon Platinum and thinking to make the move and keep the points alive or set the 6 months clock!

    • Genghis says:

As a half way house to cancelling and keeping points? Options I guess are:
      – downgrade to the free ARCC to keep your points alive
      – convert to £60 pa Amex Green, keep your points and hope 20k upgrade still around or
      – cancel and sign up again in 6 months for an internal referral and plat for 35k?
      I’d choose the latter.

      • SG says:

        Thanks Genghis
How do you actually covert to Green?A fresh application after I recommend myself?

        • Shoestring says:

Somebody could try opening & moving points to the free basic Blue Amex charge card

        • Alex W says:

How do you move Amex points? I thought you just got 1.MR account, so the points should stay where they are.

        • Lumma says:

How can you move points to the free basic charge card? It doesn’t have a rewards currency

        • Shoestring says:

          No research done, gotta admit

  • David says:

Has anyone found any 2-4-1 EY flights to Australia? Or is it not part of the sale?

  • Rocky says:

Etihad 2 4 1 not really great prices. Getting 3k for lhr to abu.

  • Gary says:

I can’t find any etihad seats to price up 241 between man and Abu Dhabi, looking to go next week.

  • Flyoff says:

Rob, There have been two Priority Pass lounges at Helsinki rather than the one you mention. The Aspire and Almost @Home in T2. They are also showing a third, a restaurant, I haven’t seen before – Fly Inn Restaurant T2 where set menus are on offer. The choices is increasing for PP @ HEL.
