Perhaps stung by criticism that the recent launch of its new loyalty scheme – Accor Live Limitless – was very much lacking in substance, the hotel group released some further information yesterday.

Details are on the Accor Live Limitless home page here.  In summary:

existing tier thresholds for Silver, Gold and Platinum will not change, so you can continue earning status points in 2019 secure in the knowledge that you will renew or gain status based on the current published numbers

Accor Live Limitless

a new Diamond top tier will be introduced for anyone who earns 26,000 status points in 2019

a new ‘invitation only’ top tier will be added for exceptionally high spenders

anyone achieving Platinum will receive a suite upgrade certificate which can be guaranteed in advance of arrival.  Additional suite upgrades will be earned at 18,000 status points and then every 4,000 status points thereafter.

bar and restaurant spend will earn points even if you are not a guest in the hotel.  This will allow you to stop your points expiring for the price of a coffee.

It is also stated that earning rates will remain the same in terms of points per € spent.  There is no mention of what will happen to how you spend those points.  More information will emerge later with the new scheme going live in late 2019.

You can find out more on the Accor Live Limitless site here.
