British Airways has cancelled all flights to St Petersburg and Kiev from 4th October.
If you are impacted by this, hold tight. It will take BA a few days to formalise re-routing plans, although there are not many alternatives.
I assume that the continued economic sanctions against Russia have finally taken their toll. Russia doesn’t help itself, however, by imposing its tough visa restrictions on St Petersburg. This should be one of the most popular UK weekend break destinations, but in reality few people are willing to go to the trouble of arranging the necessary paperwork for the sake of a 2-3 night trip.
