Tickets for all ICC Cricket World Cup games available for Emirates Skywards miles

Tickets for ALL of the ICC Cricket World Cup games have popped up for redemption with Emirates Skywards miles.

I am not a cricket fan, by any means, so I can’t really comment on the value.  I assume that Afghanistan v New Zealand will not be sold out – although 6,000 miles may still be a good deal – but I’d guess that England v West Indies is well worth 15,000 miles.

These are not hospitality packages, for clarity.  They are standard admission tickets.

Games are taking place across England and Wales and start at 4,500 Skywards miles per ticket (Afghanistan v Sri Lanka in Cardiff).  The competition starts on 30th May and ends on 14th July.

Remember that Emirates Skywards miles transfer instantly from American Express Membership Rewards if your accounts are already linked.

You can redeem your Emirates Skywards miles for seats here.

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards

How to earn Emirates Skywards miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)

Emirates Skywards does not have a UK credit card.  However, you can earn Emirates Skywards miles by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

Cards earning Membership Rewards points include:

Membership Rewards points convert at 4:3 into Emirates Skywards miles which is an attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 0.75 Emirates Skywards miles

The American Express Preferred Rewards Gold card earns double points (2 per £1) on all flights you charge to it, not just with Emirates but with any airline.

Just tried this morning and all went through okay – MR transfer and bought tickets to two games.

  • BS says:

    Now working.

    • BS says:

Just to add – thanks so much for highlighting this Rob. Has really made a difference!

  • VP says:

Got reply from Emirates that website bug has been fixed. Tried it and it said successful and miles deducted. Thanks a lot Rob!!

  • Paul says:

It seems to have worked for me for Eng Aus. First the screen said:
“Thank you for your event request.
Your request has been successful and the Miles have now been deducted from your account. You’ll find a summary of your request below and we’ll send you further information via email.”
Then I got an email which said:
“Once you’ve redeemed your Miles for your chosen event, you’ll get an automatically generated confirmation email. Another email with all the details about ticket(s) and the venue location will follow. If you haven’t received the second email a week before the event, or if you have any other queries about your account or Miles balance, please email…”

Just booked a ticket for Pakistan vs India, used the last of my expiring Skywards miles so i’m very happy indeed!

  • rams1981 says:

any idea how long emirates transfers take? Only need 700 odd miles and they annoyingly do minimum of 2000 and says can take 48 hours

    • rams1981 says:

to be clear this is from one emirates membership to another

    • BS says:

An alternative if you have an Amex card is to buy 1000 MR points for £15 (you need to call them) and transfer instantly to Emirates.

      • rams1981 says:

Thanks BS. I’m trying to use my mum’s account and she doesn’t currently have an Amex account

  • Fc99 says:

Are they platinum price band tickets?

    • mmm says:

      can anyone confirm this??

      • BS says:

I’ve emailed them for confirmation. Haven’t heard anything yet.

    • Jatin Gupta says:

Yes, Just got a reply from Emirates Skywards team that these tickets are Platinum category.

  • babyg says:

Does anybody know if it one ticket or a pair of tickets?

    • Rob says:

With the football it is always per ticket. This seems the same.

      • David D says:

You can select up to two tickets, but can order one. Miles given is per ticket. I’m still having issues trying to book the tickets. The same technical error is appearing. I have emailed the Skywards events team again to try and get it sorted.

        • BS says:

I believe most people have been able to order 2. If you can only select 1 without there being an error, I suspect there is only 1 ticket left.

          • David D says:

Tried both numbers of tickets, across two separate accounts. Neither worked. Will await contact from Emirates to see if it might be possible.

    • rams1981 says:

Price is per ticket. I bought a pair to one match and a single to another all using my dad’s points. Didn’t need my mum’s in the end as friends couldn’t make eng vs SA on Thursday

      • Arnie_B says:

Has anyone received an email informing them how to pick up their tickets? We are at the Oval this Sunday but nothing from Emirates yet!

        • DO says:

I have the same problem. Have been emailing emirates all week and no reply. Anyone been to a game yet?

        • Akhil Gupta says:

Let us know how it goes – I have one booked for next Thursday at Trent Bridge but haven’t gotten a confirmation – just a request email which says we should get a 2nd email. I called them and they said they will send an email – but said they can’t phone that department up – bad customer service!

          • Arnie_B says:

Got the email yesterday from Emirates. Hopefully we are all set!

        • akhil gupta says:

          Great Arnie!

Did you collect them ok at the Oval?
