BA sale

Last day to book for Hilton’s Asia Pacific sale

Links on Head for Points may pay us an affiliate commission. A list of partners is here.

Hilton has been running an APAC sale to celebrate its 100th anniversary.  This covers hotels across South East Asia, Australasia, Japan, Korea and Greater China.

Today, Friday 6th, is the last day to book.

Discounts are up to 25% off the Best Available Rate.  There is an additional discount for logged-in Hilton Honors members, except in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The new Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is included, image below, as is the – more affordable – brand new Waldorf Astoria Bangkok.

As always with Hilton sales, your room will be non refundable and requires pre-payment.  This means that the 25% discount is not a genuine one because you would usually save 10% anyway by pre-paying.  You should still see an additional saving, however.

You need to book TODAY for stays until 29th February.

The Hilton APAC sale site is here.

  1. Has anybody stayed at the new WA Maldives? Is it worth the extra 100,000 points over 5 nights than the conrad rangali?

    • No, unless those points were free

      • I have it booked, my only reason is that you get a private pool, you can decide if that is worth 100k

    • Got friends staying at the WA that were at the Conrad when we did our visits. Will find out how they think it compares. Looking to go back in 2021, probably the Conrad for value and layout + reef

      • Just got back from Conrad last week, a lot of regulars there had stayed ar WA too and did not like it, I think the general feel of both resorts is very different.

        • Interesting, I actually thought that might be the feedback. Appreciate you letting us know, presumably you had a great stay at the CR, any changes or points to note?

  2. isn’t there always an Asia Pacific Hilton sale on? 🙂

  3. Spurs Debs says:

Annoyingly Conrad Tokyo not on list. But I’ve had my hotel good luck this week booked Hilton Munich airport hotel for €430 checked back two days later when plans confirmed reduced to €219. Cancelled and rebooked.

  4. Getting really annoyed recently as I want to book Hilton Wangfujing (in Beijing) and the price on the online travel agents is so much cheaper than booking direct. I Emailed the hotel but got some looney price back that would be nearly £60 more expensive than direct as well

Aybody know any ways around this. I understand Hilton do offer some price match scheme but reports I’ve read are not promising.

    • Well then just use the OTA and foresake the points/status benefits. Or don’t, if they are worth more than the difference from booking on Hilton.

      • Yes it’s a huge toss up. Ideally wanted free brekkie and room upgrade with gold. Have previously found it really hard to find a breakfast I want to eat in Beijing. It’s just frusrating as I’m an holiday complex manager myself and if somebody Emails/rings to book direct we happilly offer them 5-10% below the OTA price.

        • Having difficulty finding good food in China?! That’s new to me. Although if you are only after English breakfast, I’d understand why..

          • My experience of food in HK has been woeful much go mh surprise. Best so far has been a owl of noodles from an old woman on the street. I know there has to be great food there, just cannot seem to find it.

          • Food in HK is fantastic. Food in Beijing, not so good IMO.

        • the_real_a says:

I know exactly what you mean on food. I’m not a fan of savory porridge or chickens feet for breakfast. Also the coffee outside hotels is dire. Best to check the price for brekkie directly with the hotel since you might be surprised how cheap it is. Im sure you have checked, but does the OTA price include all taxes?

    • If you are confident that the third party’s website is conform to Hilton’s BRG rules, I’ll give it a go as my previous BRG experiences with Hilton has been generally positive.

    • We stayed at New World hotel shortly after it opened and I thought it was excellent. We paid a small amount daily for breakfast and lounge access, which was well worth it.

    • TokyoFan says:

That’s a lovely hotel; stayed there last year. Great executive lounge on the top floor too overlooking the Forbidden City.

As for food (not breakfast though) try the Crescent Moon restaurant for something different in Beijing. It’s hidden in a hutong and serves Uighur/Xinjiang muslim food. The lamb skewers are delicious!

  5. I’ve just had an email from Hilton saying I have re-qualified for Gold until March 2021 (presumably for CC spending) – however I’m fairly sure I hit the £10k threshold a couple of months ago, and can’t remember seeing one of those confirmation emails for a couple of years…

    • fivebobbill says:

Me too Nick. I’ve held the Hilton card for 5 or 6 years now and the first time I’ve had an email from them confirming my Gold status extension was just a few weeks ago! A little late in the day, given I must have put at least 80k through the card since March!
Just wish they would allow you to upgrade to Diamond through spend, we live in hope…

      • Just checked hubby’s emails and he received an email today from Hilton saying as he is a Hilton Credit Card holder he will have Gold status as long as he holds the credit card. We just hit the £10k spend – Expected it to say Gold till March 2021.

        • fivebobbill says:

Wow, interesting Liz, just checked mine again and it just says extended until March 21 🙁

  6. IHG…

Until 15th September it’s 15% on next jump, which stacks with the 10% LBG Visa offers.

    Next jump offer excludes…

All IHG properties in Israel and any Kimpton properties in USA.
Holiday Inn locations: Salisbury-Stonehenge, North Beach Virginia Beach, Oceanside Virginia Beach, or London Gatwick Worth
Holiday Inn Express locations: Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays, Annapolis East-Kent Island, Guelph, Nags Head Oceanfront, Virginia Beach, or Slough
    Staybridge Suites Chesapeake Virginia Beach
Crowne Plaza Danang & Holiday Inn Resort Hilton Head.

  7. Presumably there are some missing words in the Hilton sale section (and no adblocker on this device)

You need **to book** TODAY for stays until 29th February

  8. OT – how close to take-off are bassinet seats typically released on LH flights?

    • Shoestring says:

FT says T-72 or lunchtime 3 days before your flight – but you need to call to get them as they (often) can’t be booked online

  9. Aston100 says:

What is the best Avios buying promotion that BA has done?

    • Shoestring says:

doesn’t get much better than +50% = 1p/ Avios, I got 100,000 Avios @1p a few years ago via IB when the £ was stronger.

But for smaller quantities, you can easily achieve 0.75p or 0.8p/ Avios with Avios + Money, I have regularly been ‘picking up’ 150K Avios pa @ 0.8p this way, all without getting off my backside

  10. Spaghetti Town says:

Is the Virgin auto convert offer still on?
