Get 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points by booking a day room

Hilton is keen to promote its ‘day room’ concept at the moment. This is where you book a hotel room, at a substantially discounted rate, for use between 9am and 5pm / 6pm depending on property.
Rates can be low. The cheapest in London are around £40 at Hilton Olympia and Hilton Hyde Park. I reviewed my recent day room stay at Hilton Hyde Park, below, here.
Hilton is offering 10,000 bonus points for your next day room booking
As you can see on the dedicated ‘Workspaces by Hilton’ website here, you will receive 10,000 bonus Hilton Honors points with your next day use booking.
You can only earn the bonus once. In theory the points will post 6-8 weeks in arrears, but they appear to be posting within a few days. The bonus points do not count towards status.
The offer runs from 5th November to 31st March 2021.
You can get a day use room for as little as £40 in Central London, and around £30 elsewhere. I would value 10,000 Hilton points at £33 (0.33p per point in my book) so this is a good deal if you need a private space to work. You would also earn elite night credit.
I need to flag one potential snag ….
The small print of the offer says: “To be eligible for WorkSpaces by Hilton Honors Bonus Points Offer from Hilton Honors you must 1) have received this offer directly from Hilton Honors”.
This does not seem to be correct. For a start, the offer is openly promoted on the WorkSpaces by Hilton home page!
Secondly, the friend who emailed me about this offer HAS received the bonus in his account after a stay last week and did not receive any email from Hilton. A reader in our comments section yesterday also reported getting the bonus yesterday without being contacted.
However, it is only fair to flag this restriction. If you don’t get the 10,000 points, Hilton may push back at you.
This will work alongside the current Hilton promotion
Even better, Hilton day rooms earn elite night credit and Hilton Honors base points.
If you register for the current ‘double credits and double points’ offer, you will earn TWO elite night credits, and double base points, per day. You can register for ‘Double Rewards’ here. It runs until the end of the year.
Because Hilton is rolling over elite night credits and has reduced the Diamond threshold for 2022 to 30 nights, you would earn Diamond status until March 2023 if you earned 30 elite night credits by 31st December 2020. You would achieve this with 15 day room bookings if they were all completed by the year end.
How to book day rooms
You can book directly on hilton.com if you wish. Simply set your check-in and check-out dates to be the same.
Alternatively, you can use the ‘WorkSpaces by Hilton’ website.
Government restrictions
As you know, the UK Government is keen that people work from home if possible.
However, you are free to work from a hotel room, co-working space or your office if it is not ‘reasonably possible‘ (Part 2 / 6 / 4 / a) to work from home. The majority of Hilton hotels in London are open and accepting day use guests. This offer is running until 31st March 2021 so there is plenty of time to take advantage regardless.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (March 2025)
There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards. Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.
There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.
You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.
We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.
You can apply for either card here.
SPECIAL OFFER: Until 30th April 2025, the annual fee on the basic Hilton Honors debit card is halved from £60 to £30. The sign-up bonus is also easier to earn – you need to spend £1,000 either in the UK or abroad within three months. The usual bonus rule requires you to spend the full £1,000 outside the UK.
