Get 500 free World of Hyatt hotel points today

Today (Wednesday 9th) is Hyatt’s third annual Global Day of Gratitude.

To celebrate, all World of Hyatt members can earn 500 free points by taking a ‘guided meditation’ via the World of Hyatt app.

World of Hyatt

All you need to do, apparently, is open the World of Hyatt app today and complete one of three custom Headspace exercises – Unwind, Reflect or Sleep.

I would value 500 Hyatt points at £6 so even if meditation is not usually your thing you may still want to give this a try.

The points will almost certainly count as ‘activity’ under the World of Hyatt rules. This means that it will reset the expiry date of your Hyatt points to 24 months from today.

Note that Hyatt is working on US Central Time, so the offer will not begin until 6am UK time and will carry on working until 6am on Thursday UK time.

Has anyone been able to combine my avios recently.

Trying to log onto Iberia via both BA and avios.com (via Aer Lingus) says my details cannot be recognised.

I can log into Iberia just fine.

Do not really want to lose 1200 Avios, but if I do, I do – I have no idea on expiry though as I can’t see any date and even awardwallet doesn’t show one.

Prob differing email addresses on accounts. Log in to avois.com, try the live chat ready with your failed transaction ref. Will take two mins from herr

      • JohnT says:

Or try a different browser. Award wallet seems to leave cached info if you have more than one account in the household that it checks.

Well done Rhys. If you need a travelling companion for your trip to South Africa you know where to find me 🙂

    • Rhys says:

Been to South Africa twice in recent years so I think I might be heading east to Hong Kong or Shanghai (and then hopping to South Korea or Japan) instead!

      • Chris Heyes says:

congats Rhys Hong Kong not as good now, as it used to be

      • ankomonkey says:

Well done, Rhys! Out of interest, were the questions all related to VS, general Virgin-group, general travel or just general knowledge?

        • Rob says:

10 general knowledge (on which I got 100%, because I know Scooby Doo’s proper name), 10 about Virgin (but often very tenuous – eg Virgin flies to Hong Kong, how big is the airport roof?) and 10 on general aviation, which clearly I tanked on but Rhys will have walked!

  • meta says:

World of Hyatt also running 25% off points promo at the moment.

  • Reney says:

I can see the headspace meditation section on the hyatt app but not mention of the free points?

    • SammyJ says:

Same here, just an offer to send a gift to a friend.

    • Crafty says:

Completed one (by fast forwarding through), but no kind of confirmation.

    • TrainDriverSparky says:

Terms: ‘To be eligible for this promotion, you must complete one Headspace meditation within the World of Hyatt app between 12:00 a.m. on December 9, 2020 through 11:59 p.m. on December 9, 2020, Central Standard Time. Those who complete one qualifying Headspace meditation will receive 500 World of Hyatt Bonus Points. This promotion is only eligible for World of Hyatt members and each World of Hyatt member can only receive the 500 bonus points one time.’

    • martyn ford says:

Not true, but there is a wait of up to 4 weeks for points to be posted.

  • Crafty says:

Speaking of Hyatt, does anyone know if the “stay with 5 brands to earn a free night” applies to stays booked through third parties?

I have stayed at both Andaz and Alila brands. If nothing else, it is optically irritating that they are unticked!

    • Rob says:

No, it doesn’t work. It follows usual World of Hyatt rules – only valid on direct bookings.

    • TGLoyalty says:

General rule. 3rd party OTa (online Travel Agent) bookings are not eligible for anything when it comes to hotel loyalty schemes.

AMEX Hotel collection & FHR plus Virtuoso / preferred luxury Travel advisors like Emyr do.

  • Sam G says:

Worth noting that Air France / KLM flights are fully refundable for travel before 31st March – you request a voucher but you can then request a cash refund of this

Just flown Air France/ KLM return and service is pretty much back to normal long haul – usual choice of mains, full booze menu etc in J

  • Sam G says:

? It’s exactly what it means. I requested a voucher for a flight and then requested a cash refund of said voucher and got a refund to my credit card. The link to request your cash is a bit hidden – https://refunds.klm.com/rps/Forms/frmMain.aspx
